a far cry from 22 years ago seeing MCR open a 4 band bill at mississippi nights. my 40th birthday is a week before the dallas show with garbage opening... maybe ill convince my wife (and myself to be honest) that thats a worthwhile investment in time and money, haha

    $300 in 2022 covered

    • my ticket to riot fest where I saw MCR from the pit
    • a good portion of my split of the hotel room for riot fest
    • the crutches I needed after dislocating my knee in the mcr pit
    • my deductible for my doctors visit/x ray on my knee that I dislocated in the mcr pit

But in 2025 $300 gets me a pair of tickets closer to Lake Michigan than the stage

That Deftones tour in Nashville so 72 dollars just to get in the building. How do people afford this shit?

It's starting to get to a point where it genuinely gets really sad how the ticket buying process is now in 2024.

There should be no reason resale for this is already turned on with prices being in the thousands already. Let alone seeing face value nosebleed sections in baseball stadiums cost 200+ dollars, which is the price of an entire week's pay for some individuals. Platinum Pricing already being turned on for this is ridiculous as well.

Artists have the control and power to fix this by implementing fan to fan resale for face value, decent prices and platinum turned off (Robert Smith, Billie Eilish, Cigarettes after Sex) but some just don't and its incredibly disappointing to see.

I just can’t justify spending $400 on one band. I can go to 7-8 large club shows for that cost. Like I’m all for artists making money, but this sucks for fans and is a bubble that will pop eventually. Good on MCR for making that bag, I just don’t think this is a sustainable strategy for fans and industry at whole.

In more positive ticket pricing news… blind pre sales for Stoop Fest 2025 is now up for only $15. I went last year and had a blast.

it’s definitely meant for discovering new artists, but at that price point you really can’t complain. Most of the venues are people’s backyards and porches. Think like The Fest but at 1/10 scale

we are very likely as a country going to enter into some sort of economic downturn, so every decision I make from now on I need to consider, got a house, bills, wife etc and I just can’t be spending $500 on one ticket to see a band from some sort of shitty view.

  9. I think some of us underestimate how many more people have jumped into the nostalgia part of all of this. Back in '05 this was the some of the biggest music in the world and we are under the assumption that the scene is this tiny little bubble which we come from. Both thoughts can be true. However, there are plenty of casual fans that go to these shows and are not hyper focused on the industry like we might be.

It was nice that Robert Smith called out bands that leave the dynamic pricing on, it is definitely disappointing when it is a band I like.

I couldn’t even find a ticket in the 500s for $122 when I got through the queue lol. I passed for now, will hopefully pick up something closer to the date or win tickets

I definitely saw MCR play first on a bill that included Finch, The Used, and The Movielife around then.

This might be a dumb question, but was it actually confirmed that MCR is playing The Black Parade in full?

I could see that as being a factor as to why tickets are selling quick, but aside from the “Long Live The Black Parade” tour title, I haven’t seen anything elsewhere signifying that they would?

yep, quoted a few pages earlier in some comment, but also in the press release:

The band will be performing the full album in only 10 cities across North America, produced by Live Nation, with each show featuring a different hand-selected artist as the opening act.

Don't care what ticketmaster says about any of these stadium shows....the week of/day of the show more tickets will be suddenly be found and released at face value or below

Yep, saw that tour in Cleveland at Agora. MCR played first in their black leather days to about 50-100 people as nobody really knew who they were at the time and I think only "I brought you my bullets..." was out.
