A lot if the work needed to slow down this administration is going to be by non profit orgs taking them to court and the dems are going to help vote for a bill that allows trump to label them terrorists and crush them financially. The dems are going to make it harder to fight trump it seems. That’s not an opposition party

Few people at work have said they want to see what RFK does with getting shit out of food and stuff while I am like have you all heard of the Chevron deference and how the Supreme Court ruined that because that shit ain't happening now. Then actually had to explain what I meant.

 

It sure would be nice to see in our government one that actually puts health first for people and promoting disease prevention and healthy diets. One that does things like revisits a lot of approvals that they have made in the past on food additives, ingredients, food processes, approved drugs, chemicals used in agriculture, etc. because there are so many things things we use that have been linked to cancer and other diseases and many that have been banned in other countries for those reasons. We do need someone leading the HHS who will take on big Pharma and big Ag.

In that area RFK Jr. actually does seem to speak to what we need. What we don't need is someone who will vilify vaccines and pose unfounded skepticism, while also advocating for other things not backed by science like getting rid of fluoride in water and boasting the benefits of raw milk. So while I do agree with some of what Polis said, he is obviously totally wrong to be excited about RFK Jr. and it's gross of him to celebrate his work in "defeating vaccine mandates". It's one of these things like some good can probably come from an RFK Jr. HHS, but the bad could be really bad and that's scary.

Trump people are pushing real hard for Trump to name KY congressman Thomas Massie as USDA Secretary. Probably the 2nd most hated man in the House after Gaetz. If Massie becomes AgSec expect all federal raw milk regulations to go away, he is big on that.

I had a conversation with some friends and neighbors this weekend about it and one of them was saying something like "I don't agree with RFK Jr. on vaccines, but he's going to get Red 40 out of food and that's good!"

My reply was that no, that's actually not good because process matters and he's going to use that as a Trojan horse to push for banning or allowing things based on his specious at best and deliberately misleading at worst "reasoning".
