I disagree with the sentiment that we can hope for this cabinet's ineptitude. I think this woukd be a repetition of hopes and thoughts at least i had during the first term. We all knew trump was evil, but he was constantly underestimated because of his stupidity and weird camarilla. Focusing on the obvious ineptitude sort of trivializes how evil they are.

Stupid or not, they will do a lot of fucking damage.

 

I think people were just saying both our options support genocide it seems like it might be reasonable to draw a line finally, but cool that you would just ignore the whole genocide thing which is happening right now and has been for the past year without trump in power. And I did plug my nose and vote Kamala but I have a little empathy for people my country is currently causing death and mass suffering to so I wouldn’t rub someone’s nose in the dirt for choosing to sit out voting for that.

 

The ineptitude of the last administration really hamstrung their efforts and there actually wasn’t that much lasting terrible stuff. The Supreme Court during Biden’s term passed more sweeping right wing laws than the Trump admin. I think these jokers are even worse so I expect a lot of successful fights and tying things up for four years. Being optimistic today though, of course the Supreme Court or congress could quickly make things much more bleak and let these people run wild

 

Ok we got Treasury, HHS, Commerce, Interior, Energy, Transportation, HUD, Labor, Education, and VA left for the major department cabinet positions.

I have heard Linda McMahon for Commerce and Doug Burgam for Energy are basically shoe-ins. I think we are all expecting RFK for HHS.

Have also read that Ben Carson is likely gonna be HUD secretary again.

 

Carson wrote the housing portion of Project 2025 so that would track.

 

Revealing too much about my hick background, but I grew up hunting with guns and bows every year until high school when sports took over my free time, I had my concealed carry license in MO, and I still would never own or keep a gun in the house.

It’s hard not to feel totally hopeless when the worst people alive commit blatant crimes and everyone knows it, but they’re granted immunity none of us everyday citizens would ever have a shot in hell at receiving, and are never - and will never be - held accountable.

 

The irony, of course, is that Merick Garland was also not a serious pick. He was a meme pick to pander to the resist libs who lionized him after the supreme court debacle.

And of course, he wasn't a serious pick for the supreme court either. He was picked by Obama, knowing full well republicans would reject him, simply to try and make them look dumb for rejection him and then Hillary could actually nominate a better person when she won the presidency.

 

Makes me sick to my stomach.
