It’s for the best. It’s probably going to change by the time they announce the album anyway.

 

And I enjoy the way the rollouts happen tbh. They're usually relatively elaborate

 

Idk. He’s been pretty good at sticking with what’s announced, but I would imagine we’re still a year out at a minimum

 

Yeah when it’s officially announced. Not when he’s just talking about stuff a year before. We’d have a DLID album by now if everything he said panned out. Lol

In that doom podcast, Matty dropping Glassjaw as one of like 3 examples of heavy music done properly was surprising.

 

This reminds me so much of their ambience and orchestral chord progression

 

Haven’t listened to this in a while and almost forgot that it’s pretty much the best 1975 album

 

that depends on what version of the 1975 is your favorite imo

 

I go between this and ILIWYS as my favorite. Really depends on the mood/vibe that day.

 

Spent the last few weeks listening to their entire discography and ranked every song on Saturday because that’s what no plans does to a mfer

Can say with confidence that ILIWYS is my favorite with ABIIOR coming in second

probably… S/T and ABIIOR is a toss up. BFIAFL is great but ironically its greatest strength (it’s an incredibly concise record by their standards and feels like the band really leans mostly into one particular lane of their sound) is also a bit of a weakness for me. I prefer them when they’re more sprawling and genre hopping, even when some of those forays are better executed than others. that said it is a much better album experience for me than ABIIOR and S/T.

 

Yup, more tiers for me even if I’d say ILIWYS is #1 gun to head

I like this album but the back half is a bit disappointing to me, and the S/T slightly edges it out even if I don't really care to hear "The City" or "Chocolate" again. I also prefer chaotic 1975 albums, but I get having the opposite preference. It just feels part of their chronically-online-in-an-earnest-way vibe.
