I probably read more non-fiction than fiction, though sometimes I am reading a fiction and non-fiction book at the same time. In that situation non-fiction is usually the book I read to wind down and go to bed so there is that lol.

Apart from the obviously dangerous consequences, it endlessly irritates me how confidently cis people share their opinions on how trans healthcare should be dictated because it always comes from of a place of never really trying to understand trans people and their needs.

 

At least when I put my attempt at a nuanced two cents in I prefaced it with "I am cis and a moron who still knows very little about this"

 

you know who we don’t hear from enough? parents who are supporting their trans children and why they’re doing so. we hear so much about the parents who don’t want this for their kids, get upset if the school keeps a child’s identity from them, etc and the whole thing gets painted as this “they’re transing our kids!!!” hysteria. In reality there are so many loving parents helping their children navigate their gender identity and hardly any coverage or space is given to them

I live in one of the few counties in America that did actually remove Flouride from our drinking water years ago. It was reversed by the next election because dental professionals and public health people here freaked out, and people learned it would cause our dental insurance premiums to go up.

 

That stupid ass thing completely misses the point that yes overdoing it with fluoride can be an issue but the biggest thing is municipal water supplies not monitoring their water supply/quality correctly.

 

Was it the Epstein shit that the media buried and nobody cared about? lol
