Yeah I am 7 tracks in and it gets much better, definitely a tragedy that the opening track is a trainwreck haha

One of my favorite albums ever but this didn't need to happen. His voice just sounds off these days, although I did enjoy Echo due to the kick ass outro.

I don’t quite understand re-recording an album 23 years later and not changing much

Its not a seminal anniversary release, they didn’t spread their wings creatively or add much at all to the music - did they just need something to occupy their time?

Listened to this earlier. It was fine. Some cool moments like the extended endings to Circles and Echo. But I feel like it would've made more sense to just release a live album after the summer tour.

I only listened to half so far, and I think ultimately I like it.

It's not meant to replace Morning View, but it is an interesting way for them to have the rights to these songs to do with what they will.

Wondering why they didn't change things up more misunderstands that aspect of the exercise, in my opinion.

As it is, it feels very live, like a live album without an audience, which I actually dig a whole lot as an idea. The songs remain recognizable, but with enough changes here and there to be interesting.

Brandon's voice is definitely jarring, but I also agree it gets better, and frankly I think it's a little charming and adds to the live feel. It feels impromptu.

Despite what I said, I can't imagine someone licensing these versions over the originals, but I understand and dig the intent. I wouldn't be opposed to more projects like this.

I really like the mix throughout the album and think the outros to both Circles and Echo are awesome and better than the originals.

New instrumentals are cool but yeah.. Brandon’s vocals are just not it for a lot of this.

It’s distracting and bumming me out lol

Been listening to A Crow Left of the Murder this morning and it's such a good album.

  14. Crow is probably my favorite of theirs too. Morning View and Light Grenades swap second and third depending on the day

I feel like a lot of bands have a magical three album run in their prime where they just don’t miss. Make Yourself, Morning View, and Crow do it for me.

I will not stand for this “Science” erasure.

SCIENCE is a jam but also their weirdest album.

    Horny mother fucker
    Tripping on his shoelace

He don't need no funny money

Though I will credit Science and, more specifically AGLS, for teaching me I can love the saxophone outside of classical and jazz (and ska) musical nerddom.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

the first half of Crow is absolute rocketfuelled fire, and then it totally loses me in the second half except for maybe Priceless

Sick Sad Little World is their best song though
