Clearly beating a dead horse talking about how moronic the Grammys are, but seeing artists like Khruangbin being nominated for "Best New Artist" and literal abusers like Chris Brown regularly nominated warrants my annual facepalm. Not to mention just their terrible category selections in general.

My thoughts are: 1. Happy to see Green Day get the much deserved recognition for Saviors and 2. I am very old and out of touch.

If you are unhappy with nominees you should know that nominations are done by peers. How do I know? I'm participate.

typically the only requirement for these “new artist” categories is that the artist hasn’t been nominated for any awards before (e.g. new artist nominees at the Grammys haven’t ever been nominated for a Grammy before) so it doesn’t really matter how long the artist has been active. in that case it usually means the artist has reached a new level of success/exposure/notoriety with this album cycle.

Why would Sabrina Carpenter not nominate espresso for SOTY? Every other overlapping ROTY nominee is up for the same song in both categories. I would think Espresso has a better shot at winning

I get it. Still just a preposterous category.

I know the Grammys are nonsense, but still, we’re still nominating Dave Chapelle for things!?!

The 3 stacks nom is absolutely absurd. Love Andre to death, but what a joke.

Shouldn’t be surprised that the only blink album
to receive a nomination was “California” but here we are. One More Time deserved a nomination.

Yeah, doesn't help my view of Grammy's being a joke.

Oh well, doesn't take away my enjoyment of the album. That being said, it's just a bummer to see a return to form not get the recognition it deserves.

    Die rad.

I feel so dated when these and the VMA lists come out. I will say though that I hope Trent Reznor scores the win for the Challengers Score. That's my AOTY
