this is light years better than anything on the rain museum imo. Felt like rain museum was really slow tempo wise and his vocal lines felt phoned in, but this one is great, good tempo and the vocals lines have more movement.

More Smile for Them vibes, it's a good song, and totally unexpected to get anything so soon!

I also don't think Ben used to ever belt out all that much - I just wish he did it from time to time on the span of the whole record, well, nothing tops those moments like some mild lost temper on Stay on the Ground (even if he would have to avoid singing it live later on)

If this was on Rain Museum it might have been the best track.

From the press release it seems like we are getting more songs but not an album?

I really dig the new song.

i didn’t listen just once and have gone back to it to try again, but I found it very very mid tempo. The vocal melodies are straight up all quarter and half notes, the movement just isn’t there so the songs feel slow to me. But I digress. New song rules.

I gave Rain Museum another listen today since I’m digging this single a lot and it still feels lifeless and boring to me.

Whatever Who Cares aside - the album is largely forgettable and their weakest effort. Here’s to hoping the new material continues to sound great!

Felt like everyone loved rain museum on release, I’m surprised to read all this. That said, I think this would be mid-to-bottom half of rain museum for me but I do really like it a lot. Didn’t expect more music as at all let alone so soon.

all that said, I think in this nightmare together has a case to be their best chorus. It’s hard for me to connect to obviously nostalgia-based new music but I do think that album really is great. Also crazy it’s been almost 2 years, thought it was ~1

I enjoy Rain Museum, but I do think it qualifies as forgettable just because What To Do When You're Dead does everything that album does except better. Saying that, it's a solid album and I'm really glad they're back at it. I just don't think it did anything new for them. This song has a unique tone. Looking forward to whatever they put out.

    More surprise music

Seems like more of a b-side from rain museum in terms of lyrics.

Wow Ben really is getting his groove back! Loving this single as well as the last one.

  17. Seems pretty much right in the Rain Museum vein. I liked RM, so I like this, but don't see it as any change, improvement, or departure. Coulda fit easily on that album and been a mid-level track.

New single most likely but would be cool if an EP or LP was announced!

  20. did they announce the last 2 singles they put out? i seem to remember them just dropping randomly. so i'm curious if maybe this is an EP or something more than a single.

That text is from the booklet that comes with What To Do When You Are Dead

They are probably announcing a 20 year tour or another repressing. After they went so hard on the 15th anniversary doesn't feel like we need it.

An album of reimaginings could be neat like the alternate version of Basement Ghost they released in 2020.

But it's probably a nostalgia tour.

The Dangerous Summer were teasing that this week they're going to announce a tour where they are opening for 2 co-headliners who are celebrating 20 year anniversary albums. Armor was my first thought.

Just feels weird since I just went to the "15 year" show less than 3 years ago.

Not gonna complain if they take the celebrations to Europe this time ;u

I can see AFS wanting to do a more extensive tour celebrating the album since the last tour was only a few weeks long and the emo nostalgia stuff is so hot right now. The tour with TEN was pretty successful and sold out here. I don’t blame them for doing another anniversary tour for their most successful album given that success.

I’m wondering who would be coheadlining. Anberlin, SOTY or HIPV would be my best guesses.
