still going to take awhile for him to get there but Neto one goal closer to matching or surpassing Harry Maguire’s career tally

Regardless of the result, at least we’ve played some half decent football in the second half.

I’m zen about the match. We’re not going for the title this year, that much was evident before today, but we played well and I thought we were the better team.

Clearly Odegaard is unbelievably important to us, because we look transformed going forward with him back. That’s made it evident that no replacement/backup is a flaw in our squad building and has cost us over the last six weeks or so.

Another plus is that we’ve already been away to City, Villa, Spurs, and Chelsea, and have played Liverpool and Brighton at home. It should maybe be a smoother run after the international break. Hopefully the players who have just come back gain some fitness over the international break.

Fun fact of the day. United and Arsenal have the same number of goals conceded this season

Sporting have come from 2-0 down away to Braga to make it 3-2 in Amorim's last game. You LOVE to see it.

  15. I’m still a huge believer in Ange. We need to be patient with him. People are quick to jump at the high line being such a defensive liability any time we lose. But if you watch our games, the goals we’ve given up are mostly given up for other reasons. Several have been from our players not focusing, ball watching, and getting beat to every ball. Depth is also a problem. Seems like if we have one player from the back line out everything we do building from the back goes to shit.

I’m just getting worried I’m in the minority with these opinions now. Hopefully the fans don’t run him off. We’ve been buying mostly young talent, I don’t think that should correlate with the expectations of immediate results.

Another example why VAR is not perfect and is not able to decide millimeter offside decisions. I don't understand why they always claim the opposite.
Just introduce a reasonable margin of error (which counts as no offside) and everything would be fine.

(The tweet claims they did this on purpose but I don't think they did. It looks more like the system failed to recognize which body part belongs to which player.)

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Finally catching up after a busy weekend. Very pleased with the Newcastle comeback at Forest (who have been very good so far). Up until about 3 weeks ago I was quite worried about us. Something looked a bit off. The spark and fight seemed to be missing from a team who are better on paper than they've been for years. From the Chelsea league game onwards, we look like we've remembered how to play again. Tonali is going to be a monster for us when he's fully match fit.

Still some mild headaches in a couple of positions though. If Isaak gets injured or we lose another centre back, we're stuffed.

Definitely feeling this. I can't remember there being so many capable teams all at once. Last year, I'd say the top 8 all had decent competitive seasons. That top 8 are all at it again this year, but Brighton have come back after a dud year, with Fulham, Forest, Brentford and Bournemouth all having a go too.

There are far fewer chaotic or poor teams this year.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I agree with you. I get frustrated, but almost all of these losses end up being because of players turning their brains off and that’s what frustrates me even more. I just don’t know what the fix is anymore. We’ve almost cycled out half the roster and I still see players making the same mistakes the old ones did. It’s maddening.

everyone always things firing the manager is a cure all. I just don’t see it being on Ange.
