why do dogs life spans have to be so short

my dogs are 12 and 13 right now and I’m just like ugh I get scared when any little thing changes with them

 

Yeah Leo just turned 9 and Annabelle is turning 7 in December

 

I was able to get 14 years out of my golden retriever and feel so lucky about it. Always have to have two dogs staggered in age so never dogless.
