I posted a few weeks ago about watching Terrifier for the first time and how the misogyny of the chainsaw kill just completely took me out of it. I'm not normally squeamish, I appreciate a cool, creative kill. The yoga kill from In A Violent Nature this year was awesome.

But anyways, should I continue with Terrifier 2 and 3 while that's still in theaters? Or maybe it's not for me.

I feel like the gender violence evens out in 2 and 3, which are both way better anyway.

  3. I would call the sequels slightly less mean-spirited and more story-based (better films all-around), but the two most gruesome kills in Terrifier 2 happen to women, so while I consider the venture worth it, you probably know in your heart of hearts whether it's for you or not lol

This is true about 2 too, though.

Found Heretic to be good, not great. Direction and performances were A+ though.

Him getting $1k a bee sting in Candyman is one of my favorite movie facts. RIP, legend.

Fucking rest in peace, Tony. Absolute legend. My introduction to him was Savini’s NOTLD remake, and I remember being absolutely captivated by him. Pure gem.

RIP Tony. it's not his best role or anything but I've always loved how much gravitas he added to Final Destination with just a few minutes of screentime. an absolute legend with one of the most iconic voices ever

  12. Truly a one-of-a-kind presence and legend. Candyman remains an all-time favorite, but it's true that he brought a specific kind of charisma to every role he stepped in. I knew he was in poor health, but he had a hell of a run, and I'm thankful for his contributions to the genre. Rest in fucking peace, King.

  13. Scream 3 is underrated and very fun and very campy

  17. It's definitely closer than people would admit. (I think it's on par)

I love them all, but I think 3 is the only one I'd consider inferior to the rest. Gale's hair says it all.

  19. VI is pretty easily my least favorite (but it's still pretty fun)

Not this week, man, not this week. lol

But nah, I get it. I probably love 6 more than most, but I'm not sure. 3 also hasn't aged as well considering everything that's come out publicly since then. But there isn't a bad Scream movie imo.

Also maybe this is a hot take, but I think Scream 4 looks like shit. I know it was an artistic choice, but I want to see the edit without the vaseline lens filter on it. Praying it'll be on the upcoming 4K release.

that's not a hot take at all (3 being good on the other hand...) I think everyone agrees the vaseline filter is the worst part of a really great movie

You’d be surprised actually. I used to see threads on Reddit all the time over the years where people stick up for it and think it’s wrong to change it. But idk how anyone could watch 3 through 5 now and not find 4 completely jarring. It doesn’t look like it belongs.

haha weird, I've never seen a single person say they like it. even with that and the kinda self-indulgent intro I still think it's the best Scream after the OG

Scream 4 is legitimately hard to look at.
