yeahhh after lurking around the Green subreddit...these people are really not very smart and most are not very serious. JFC.

 

it's hard, though, right? It's one thing to have strong convictions about politics and human rights and building a just world, it's another to understand political strategy, building coalitions, leading meetings, campaigning, messaging, etc. It sounds like it's a lot of energy without the understanding and tools on knowing where and how to focus it. again, same energy DSA had in late 2016/early 2017. We had a lot of people show up angry and energized and they wanted to speak up and interject and often looked foolish because their ideas and input were objectively naive.

So let me get Trump's economic policy related to food prices straight he is going to enact 20% blanket tariffs on all agricultural imports which in theory is supposed to ramp up the demand for domestic agricultural production, while at the same they are going to purposefully cause a labor shortage in the domestic agricultural market? That sounds...idiotic.

 

well yeah because the Democratic Party stopped being progesssive in ~1980 and didn’t even sniff it again until Obama haha. And even then it was just sort of tip toeing around it rhetorically without really stepping foot into it, with the exception of some social issues and parts of the ACA. Biden took a step in on some labor issues and fiscal policy and then immediately dropped the ball the last two years. Luckily the only folks who seem to be thinking that was the problem is the pundit class, while a lot of rank and file Dem voters and such seem pissed at them for trying too hard to tack center and court Repubs. Should be an interesting dynamic the next two years.
