    !!!!

It's much easier to name up and coming. I would say converge is one of the biggest acts, primarily due to the fact that they transcend genre.

Depends on what you mean by modern.

If he means that last 20 years, I consider refused.

You'd probably be right with that.

Turnstile just got their own articles in GQ and the goddamn New Yorker. Them and Code Orange are the only hardcore bands I can think of on major labels. I think Converge is a good answer still

For bands that have emerged this decade I'd say Turnstile without hesitation.

  7. Is it me or does the new Trash Talk EP sound horrible? My download sounds so muddy.

  8. Have Heart and Bane always seemed huge to me but that may be a regional thing.

^ My personal favorite hardcore bands, but I'd give it to Turnstile. You just feel something special going on when you're in the room they're playing. Crowds keep getting bigger too.

These two + TT and Ceremony were damn close to the biggest as well

Turnstile got the crowds, all they need is that one record and they gold.

  13. How is Ceremony viewed from the hardcore scene nowadays? I haven't seen them live in over 5 years so not sure how their crowds are anymore.

I've never seen them but apparently their sets are a mix of all their material so I imagine pretty well still

People were receptive and lively to them at TIHC the times I saw them.

saw them two weeks ago in nyc

new songs --> people nodding their head, tapping their feet... kind of like "ok, we'll let you play this shit only because you 're also playing the old shit, which we adore"

old songs --> all hell breaks loose

I understand it... the problem with the new stuff is not that it is a radical change, the problem is the important drop in quality...

I still feel they have another good record in them, tho

Not sure what this song exactly is about, but lyrics feel super relevant. Favorite band. Every release was a solid step up from already good shit™

Finally saw Protester last night - good show but the headliner was Gag and their singer (who looks exactly like Ian MacKaye) was fucking nuts - loved that shit!
