The arrival note album is great. Like an old school emo record, or a more upbeat penfold. Really loving it

State Champs. I thought I outgrew pop punk, but they’re great at writing catchy hooks I listen to on repeat.

    Bad Astronaut - Untethered

Joey Cape's stripped down versions of some Bad Astronaut songs - and it's one of the most beautifully crafted albums of his entire career, and that's saying something.

This reminds me of a more laid-back, less proggy Rx Bandits mixed with The Maine that includes a tiny splash of Sublime. This is great

    • Neal Morse & The Resonance (listed as Neal Morse in Apple Music) -- Epic melodic prog. Morse leads a group of fairly unknown Nashville musicians in crafting a truly wonderful album. 2 giant 20+ minute epics.
    • Make Them Suffer -- We're all gonna be suffering prettttyyyy soon, amiright? Very groovy and heavy metalcore that almost tips into deathcore. Great vocalists and synths. This is probably their best album. They really came back stronger than ever with the new vocalist/keyboard player.
    • State Champs -- These guys are so incredible at writing hooks.
    • South Summit -- This album is quite something. It reminds me of a laid-back ...Battle Begun-era RX Bandits mixed with The Maine that includes a very small portion of Sublime.
    • Counterparts -- Easily the heaviest thing they have ever put out. It is very good.
    • Tides from Nebula -- Really great instrumental post-rock that builds for the perfect length before either lifting you up or stomping you down (songs about 6 min. on average).
    • Massive Wagons -- These guys are always fun. very, very well-written rock with big guitars & big hooks. Makes me happy.
    • Paysage d'Hiver -- Does not make me happy. Some of the most depressing raw black metal out there. Would normally be on the top of my list, but I just can't do depressing right now.

I'm in love with the ordinary

Really enjoying this EP from Madi Rindge, (and her music in general). This EP just dropped today.

Not much else I really care about listening to this week. Looking more forward to next week, with Less Than Jake's new EP and the new Linkin Park album (which I'm still not sure how to feel about but will check it out anyway).

What’s this? Not same Junior Varsity I remember many a years ago during Victory Records major push of artists. This was under Apple Music’s “top releases” for this upcoming week.
