Perhaps she shouldn’t be in the Democratic Party then, but should instead caucus with them. She clearly has the constituency to do so.

Regarding getting things done: she didn’t even vote for the infrastructure bill. And yet her pinned tweet for reelection is all about projects funded by the infrastructure bill… we make fun of the hypocrisy when it’s a Republican, I think she deserves the same treatment.

I won’t pretend to understand their geopolitical calculus or their electoral calculus. I know that it’s awful. I don’t have the same data that you do that it would have been a nonissue with Jewish people for the campaign… as I said, I think Harris’ team just wanted to stay as far out of the Israel/Palestine topic as possible in this election and hope for the best. You can call it discipline in a hundred-day campaign or vanity or evil or whatever you want.

Anecdotally, the Jewish folks I’ve spoken to about this topic seem to feel pretty strongly about Hamas while also calling Netanyahu evil for using it as pretext to massacre the Palestinian people. I obviously don’t know how that would translate across all Jewish Americans but I am interested in asking their POV.

Two things can be true at the same time. It’s hard to say you don’t help Trump when you accuse Biden of being a war criminal during the election. (Cue whoever the fuck QTing with “Biden is a war criminal” — yes, I know that every US president is a war criminal.) The equivocation is what it is, and the Dems made a ton of bad choices in this campaign. I have been speaking about that one.

On a human level I understand what you are saying and don’t disagree, which is again why she perhaps should not be in the Party. We should have more elected independents, the country would be much better for it.
