Basically. His politics align with a lot of the chapo guys and The Majority Report. End the empire, slash military spending and the military industrial complex, establish a strong social safety net, and nationalize major industrial sectors.

Not faulting that at all. It is the best starting point for leftism for a lot of people.

 

The economy is good and Trump is going to inherit it and it's gonna be really annoying how much he takes credit for it until he crashes it lol.

But the economy being good needs to be coupled with "And here's what we're going to do to help the people that it's still leaving behind" and the Harris campaign really lacked that. They were too afraid it would come off as saying the economy isn't good instead of saying "hey even in good economies, it doesn't always translate to good economic results for individuals, and here's my policy to do X Y and Z to help those people" and etc. I think that's part of the messaging that we're all talking about in here. They tried the price gouging angle but it never felt like it was a true priority for them. They talked about child tax credits but again very bad at communicating about it. I feel like they never mentioned that income inequality actually dropped for like the first time ever. How you're not screaming that from the hills every day and then telling people what you'll do next to continue the trend, I'll never get.

I'm gonna argue that if it doesn't "translate to good economic results for individuals" then the economy is not good and the exit polls show the vast majority of Americans agree with that. so instead of trying to argue they're wrong actually, we should say even if the dumb metrics show the economy is "good" what do we need to do to help people not feel like the economy is bad? they didn't do that
