I feel pretty done with being plugged in to the online bubble of hope/doom conjecture. I’ve already unfollowed and detached from some online spaces that I used to consider extensions of real life communities but now just view as meaningless spaces for folks to hear their own voices and force arguments for sport.

I got kicked off a discord server (where I had to verify I was black to join) because I was pro LGBTQIA+ this is an unfortunately common in many black male spaces. It goes a step further often that there is seen to be a (white/jewish/etc) conspiracy to emasculate us so being queer is twisted into being "anti-black". This opinion runs pretty strong across age brackets too. I connected with my biological father after 20 years of searching with him to find out he was a homophobe and blocked him.

I'm not sure how to combat it, better messaging I guess.
