The Dems right now are planning how to give him more relevance and pull while shunning Hasan, who has been the most correct this whole election cycle about the spaces they need. It’s so fucked.

Party really needs to be torn down and completely revamped, but they’ll fight tooth and nail against the left in a way they’ll never bother to with the right.

This is a good conversation but Ryan Grim has a great point, he talks about that Chuck Schumer quote of saying for every 1 rural voter Dems lose they will gain 2 in the suburbs. That position completely misses that there is a throughline between poor/working class in the rural areas to the exurbs to the suburbs and to the urban areas. Those people share similar pain and the Democratic party completely overlooked them and their pain.

idk, religion kind of sucks, i don’t want to back a party that has anything to do with religion, considering ya know, it’s supposed to be separate and all.

I think it's a dangerous oversimplification to talk only about the radicalization of Gen Z men when nearly every demographic group moved to the right but found this thread to echo a lot of what's been being discussed in here about Millennials:

  20. i cannot believe this is what i see more and more people saying ... I ... this isn't a thing?

these weird ass fake issues feel like a great way to not fundamentally change anything ... which is I think part of the point of the focus. use it as a scapegoat and run the "strong border + military + fuck trans kids" playbook next time and think that'll win it all. pathetic.

Well, the counter to this is that she is the progressive versioon of an outrage candidate who created conditions that made it more likely for Trump to be president. She gets relatively nothing done in Congress -- voted against the infrastructure bill and has never co-sponsored a bill that got passed in Congress.
