If we got into the Asian voters I woulda brought that up for sure, but given who swung and by how much, and what the exit polls were showing on issues, it doesn't seem like that was a major deciding factor but I think it still played a factor in the overall "vibes" of Harris and her campaign and I imagine helped suppress overall turn out for her, even if it wasn't swinging say white male voters to Trump or whatever.

Honestly, a republican nominee is the only chance I could see it happening and who knows who that'd be and what they would have to do and say to ingratiate themselves into that new political dynamic.

I really really hate the "what do you expect from uneducated voters" kind of thing

like I know it shows up in the results but i'm a white straight male homeowner with only a high school degree in oklahoma

hate that all or nothing language

I don’t have to see the numbers to know trump won with college educated men and women

  10. This is it. It's not as complex as people think and I really do encourage anyone motivated to run for office or apply to work in local or state government. Good people trying hard to make the world better.

I think the issue is that right wing grifters have convinced the young, straight white male demographic that all the democratic party wants them to do is sit down and shut up so they feel they only have a voice in the republican party. And honestly, I get that a little bit, but no one actually wants straight white men to shut up, only to know when to listen, when to speak, and to consider what they listened to before speaking.

But all that nuance is getting cut out (on purpose) and it's just 'oh hey straight white man who's been told to shut up, we're here for you'.

Also would like to point out education does not equal any sort of real world knowledge per se. Guy who is little younger than me so early thirties on my team at work who is college educated, we have had to explain multiple times how loans and interest rates work. He voted for Trump on the logic that interest rates and the economy was better under Trump and he wants to buy a house in the next few years.

Plenty of the Union members I represent love Rogan, and they also love their Union. I think if you were a candidate running on a pro-worker platform, and you wanted them to hear it, going on Rogan is not a bad idea. Even if it’s just helping you peel off some support for Trump/Vance, it’s worth doing. It’s one of the largest audiences you’ll get in America.

I find it strange when people act like a podcast with that many listeners is completely monolithic. I also think it’s wrong to assume people listen to the podcast for Rogan himself and not the interest slate of guests he has one many of whom are not political whatsoever

Pre-Covid Rogan and Spotify Deal/Post-Covid Rogan are two completely different shows, his guest lists shows that. You can look into a few of his different online communities that discuss his show and there is a schism between his fans based on that line.

Something funny (in a sad & frustrating & stupid way) to see people rightfully mad that someone as hateful as Trump got a second presidential term… and respond with misanthropy.

As some of the posts in this thread’s latest stretch of pages have said, concluding that a large percentage of the population is just fundamentally “evil” is such a worthless response 2 me.
