I know this is probably just more doom…but the results of the this election really makes me feel like I’m on an island filled with the most insane people ever.

I truly don’t want to engage with anyone today because I’m nervous of what I’d say.

I don’t want to be in a movement with these people, I want to leave these people.

Yeah I’m sure that would have pushed her over the edge. Going to be some absolute brain dead takes from Democrats about this loss. I have zero faith they figure this out.

I remember on Election Day 2020 my mother texted me please don’t relapse if trump wins. Problem was, I had relapsed many weeks prior without anyone knowing. I’m so glad my life is in order now. This would be so much worse if it wasn’t.

I think it’s okay for a lot of us to acknowledge that we’re feeling grief and that’s how we have to process this and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Eh I don’t know. All the data says just having a gun in the house is more dangerous than gun violence from outside

I think it's fair to say that at a certain point we will be in an extreme outlier situation from the dataset

I've been telling myself to get one since January 6th, but that was mostly because I feared what would happen in the event of another Trump loss. Not sure what to think now.

Does anyone know when we'll get final senate results? Is it going to be a total sweep?

The tweet is aimed at those who decided that genocide was not a red line, and voted for Kamala Harris in a misguided attempt to protect themselves. You don’t get to feel sad about the genocide in Gaza if you just voted for one of the primary facilitators of it.

I remember he had like a one week honeymoon period on his approval rating that immediately cratered when he did the Muslim ban....I don't even know if he comes in with an approval rating above 50% this time hah

not to get ahead of ourselves here but yeah there is definitely a good chance once trump gets into office and actually starts his ideas like deporting millions of people, gutting regulations, trying to strip away healthcare, giving tax cuts to the rich, massive tarrifs...people are going to realize they don't like these things and the 2026 midterms could shift back to the dems in big ways

unfortunately, not a very favorable senate map for dems in 2026

As much as this seems like America may be rejecting democrats as a whole, and swinging towards republicans, Trump is currently down about 3.5% from 2020, but Kamala is down 18%. (I know there are still plenty of west cost votes to count) but that's a huge drop off I don't see being made up.

I think Democrats rejected the Democrat ticket plain and simple. Do I personally belief that shifting further left will get those numbers back up for victory? Yes and no... Yes because it will inspire voters, but it will also increase counter votes for Republicans so more votes next time on a more progressive platform, but victory? Who knows...

Here's to hoping 4 years of relative inaction on the promises Trump made. I also hope that a large portion of Trump voters just simply chose the better chose in their mind (for whatever reason - economy / safety etc) and remain reasonable on future ballot measures/ midterms - I still have faith that a lot will reject extremism should it begin to materialize and that not all 70+ million people are aligned with Trump on every issue.

  25. I am unsure people realize what this "mass deportation" thing (now promised for day one) is going to do for everything.

There's a real possibility of a thousand paper-cuts and multiple nuke sized fuck-ups coming right away.
