I think it’s more likely you build a new party around “hey, if you don’t like the democrats or republicans, and want to actually be a part of a Party that prioritizes you, join up here” than the Dems allowing their party to be taken from them - violently or otherwise.

With RCV failing everywhere, Stein being an albatross around the Greens neck, I don’t see this gaining traction either unfortunately. Not saying it’s worth a shot, just saying parties like the Unity, PSL, etc are also doing this and it just doesn’t seem like that is working either?

the media blackout on any party not in the establishment (which includes greens) makes this more than just an uphill battle, it’s a legitimately impossible task without the ear of the media

Yeah I think Wayne County (City of Detroit) in Michigan is going to be down around 30k of votes compared to 2020 but I think Michigan is going to exceed its 2020 totals. Seems like in typical Blue counties, there is less total votes than in 2020.

I’m sure voter suppression played a role in some amount of votes but the dems losing that many shows so many more fundamental problems at the core of the party you can’t just blame someone else for

But i get why that makes democrats or kamala supporters kind of pissed. No she wasn't perfect but it's hard to shake that in the real world, dems staying at home means trump winning and whatever he brings into this world in the next 4 years.

So seeing tweets or posts about we reap what we sow.....i mean shit, I get it.

But I also get why a lot of dems stayed at home too. A lot of liberals have morals

It’s 100% an uphill battle. This would likely be an unpopular take with my DSA/PSL/Socialist alternative friends, but i also think you can’t talk about it to Americans using the vocabulary of 20th century marxists. You can use the principles and analysis, but I think certain terms are just poisoned here. It’s how I’ve said in here before, i can quote Lenin to my members and they eat it up but if i said “we’re socialists” they’d probably want to fight me. So i guess trying to approach it less as an academic pursuit like how i feel a lot of leftist parties have acted for decades and more as populism with the credibility that comes from not being associated with Wall Street or Tech weirdos, in other words: a way to funnel people into class struggle is what I’m looking at.

Also, electoral success wouldn’t be the primary aim of the party I’m envisioning. I think it’s useful to engage in electoralism to an extent because that’s where most Americans engage with politics currently. But i still think trying to get people unionized and geared up for strikewaves is more useful. I think a Workers Party could engage in that.

after "surviving" 4 years of trump and then 4 years of surviving Biden-Harris, with the last year watching a genocide, and nothing materially getting better in my life. i just don't feel as shaken to the core as other people. more like last night confirmed what i already knew to be true.

  25. They're expecting big numbers again. I don't think they get them.
WaPo thinks they'll get people to scramble and resub. I don't think they'll get them.

I don't think Trump will be the the click machine he was before. Maybe a fraction of it, but not to the same level.
