I'd love to know what the original plan for Eko was and how that would have impacted Locke, since a lot of what they planned for Eko was folded into Locke, from what I remember.

 

He wa skilled off because of a DUI right? Same with Ana Lucia? Vaguely remember something like that

 

No, and I think the whole DUI thing for Rodriguez was tabloid nonsense. Cynthia Watros was the other involved party there and she popped back up multiple times.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje left on his own request because he didn't want to keep living in Hawaii for the show.

 

Eko was such an unhinged character, I fucking loved him

 

I thought I remembered Ana Lucia was killed off because every one fucking hated her haha

 

She sucks but she was interesting for sure (and nice to look at lol). Kinda crazy that the only one from the tail of the plane who survives is Bernard

 

Michelle Rodriguez was only ever supposed to be around for one season. It was in the contract, IIRC.

Crazy how much Flashes Before Your Eyes changed the game. And then it’s followed by the worst episode of television

 

I've been watching this show in full for the first time, I remember catching occasional episodes on TV when I was younger but I only remember bits and pieces of it. Sayid carries s1 so hard, man that dude rules

 

one thing I did not remember was that flashback where Shannon and Boone sleep together, absolutely buckwild lmao

it's really cool how you can see Lindelof's later writing style starting to develop but it's not quite there yet. the mythology, the surreal dream stuff and his obsession with Australia are all very Leftovers and they're all there from the start of Lost pretty much. but then the other half of this season is like... a soap opera and that's definitely different lmao

 

Boone is such a weird character, he has no personality for about 15 episodes, then it's like they realised and overcorrected too hard so he's in love with Shannon and Locke's lapdog in the space of one episode. then a few later they kill him off anyway! poor guy lmao

anyway the s1 finale was solid but I kinda see where the complaints about lack of pay-off come from. must've sucked waiting a year after that ending lmao. the mythology teases throughout the season were honestly more effective at hooking me than the cheesy cliffhangers like Sawyer getting shot (again very Twin Peaks season finale)

 

The fun thing about tv back then was we didn’t have to wait a year lol, it was like 3 months. Season 1 ended in May and s2 premiered in September.

got a few episodes into s2 and it already feels so much stronger for some reason. Eko and Desmond I vaguely remembered but they're such cool and exciting additions to the show. the guy who plays the latter reminds me of David Tennant so much

that first episode with Michael Emerson is amazing, probably the best one I've seen so far. not how I expected that character to be introduced
