It's not over, but I am not feeling hopeful at all. My main takeaway is just trying to figure out what the hell an 'average American' is these days, and what they believe in. I am shocked at some of the numbers so far despite tempering my expectations. I don't always agree in here, but I lurk and read / learn a lot, and have a left leaning bubble myself, but man, clearly things are different out there with how the vote totals look right now. Will Kamala even pull off the solace of a popular vote victory?

I am very upset for a particular friend who has spent the past 6 months going DEEP into politics and on board with Kamala and without being mean, I tried to get him to approach today with some trepidation as I know how much he's going to crash. He's a very passionate and emotional person. I am going to avoid initiating contact and do nothing but offer condolences if it it doesn't pick up somehow but I really wish I was able to get him to see this was a scenario and mentally prepare a little.

 

They won online. The way Twitter became a right wing ecosystem overnight absolutely meant more than all the fucking doors I knocked in Philly.

And not for nothing, but their infrastructure is the most unsophisticated thing I’ve ever encountered. Contacting the same folks over and over and over, annoying the living fuck out of anyone who gives you even a single donation, not coordinating between 100 different groups all using the same lists to do the same thing. It’s poorly run.
