The only thing I was truly excited to vote for was the ranked choice voting prop here in DC

Tape a magnet to the end of tape measure if it’s still there and not crushed. Saw someone on instagram do this.

It pisses me off that the biggest support for "No on 3" in Florida isn't coming from Christian evangelicals, but coming from people who already have medical cards voting no because they're afraid over prices or scaremongered about "big weed".

Some people can't get cards because they don't have insurance. Some people are still getting thrown in jail for possession. You privileged fucks. How about some solidarity with your brothers still buying weed from drug dealers you selfish ass.

Florida is just a general shit hole, truly feel bad for anyone who’s stuck there and doesn’t have the ability to leave.

I'm all for legalization, but some people who smoke just look like fools. I was in Vegas and went to a dispensary, and the guy checking me out had eyes as bloodshot as I've ever seen and went on some crackpot conspiracy theory when I mentioned I was in a state where it would need it to be federally legalized to get any traction on obtaining it. Any person within earshot who was on the fence about weed and it's effects would have been like what the hell has it done to your brain my guy?

Yes and I think we generally recognize and discuss the negative issues with alcohol more. I don't know, plenty will disagree, but I think too many marijuana users refuse to recognize the negatives and go about thinking it's completely harmless and in the end, it hurts the cause for further legalization efforts. It's a mind altering substance that impacts things like the ability to drive (which far too many people say it doesn't, it makes them 'better' lol) and far too many people are 'addicted' if only in the psychological sense. I'm all for legalization spreading, including my state, but conversations around it don't need to throw out all the negatives / risks out of the conversation.

Either way, I was just telling an anecdote about someone in Vegas who probably would be encouraging some people to vote no because of 'big weed'. That was the point of your post, and it related. I don't remember, but their reasons for not legalizing it nationwide, were paranoid nonsense.

I was telling my friend who smokes but was on the fence over the "big weed" stuff the other day that all that doesn't matter when poor people without cards are still getting arrested for possession. Make it legal and do reforms later.

This is just showing me how many cannabis users "legal weed" was only ever about them and their ability to get stoned when they want, and not the about systemic issues caused by cannabis prohibition.

  22. i would make weed federally legal to sell only for people selling it out of a room with a hot couch

The biggest issue is that without federal legalization its extremely difficult for there to be studies done on marijuana. From what the benefits are to what the negatives are there is lack of research out there. I believe we have slowly started to get some but the illegality of it federally is a huge barrier to gaining any sort of information.
