One of the first bands that AP.net turned me onto. I kept seeing the banner ad for BPIB and thought their name was cool. Not sure if I'd ever be introduced to them if it weren't for that, because I don't know anyone who listens to them.

i think i saw the Love Rhymes with Hideous Car Wreck video on Fuse back in the day

  3. I remember my friend described them to me as "hardcore but like more than that" or something to that effect back in the day and I knew I had to listen, this was ...BPIB-era so a truly great time to jump on. I got to see them once in 2004 when they were touring with Coheed, I am so stoked that I get to see them again especially after seeing these videos.

I have a fun Jaguar Love story. So they did a tour and stopped in Pensacola. Me and my gf at the time show up, it was a place that was a bar and a small venue space. We showed up and they told us to hang at the bar cause they honestly weren’t sure if they were gonna play or not because the venue was going to have to pay them far less. We sat there for two hours, ate, had some drinks and they were still just going between a back both at the bar and the van. No one else ever came, the bar staff said they will weren’t sure they were gonna play. So we left…..never did see Jaguar Love

That seems right haha. They seemed destined to be short-lived but I really do love TMttS. Willing to bet it's one of Matador's lowest-selling albums.

I remember seeing Jaguar Love during their Hologram Jams-era at some small bar in LA and there was maybe 20 people there?

I remember thinking that the band wasn’t going to last much longer and feeling okay with it given how much I didn’t like most of HJ. I do love that first record though!

Yeah in retrospect they were probably doomed the moment J. Clark quit. "I Started a Fire" is great but after that it tanks fast.

Been revisiting their discography since the news of the reunion tour and it’s insane how well it holds up. They still sound so fresh and vital. Nobody like em.

imho they were no less than the quintessential American rock band of that era. glad they're still getting some attention.

Dave from Minus the Bear played with them last night. This tour rules.
