Opening to Dragon age is really good. Never did finish inquisition -- started it a few times and would get like halfway through each time before losing steam with it. But really have really enjoyed the first hour of this so far

 

Yeah rh beginning sold me 100%.

 

so far the game gets better with every passing hour you play. got off last night right after recruiting Lucanis. not sure who to romance but I’ve started planting some seeds already

 

Legit jealous of kids/teachers who got today off. Would love to just play DA all day

So far what surprises me the about Veilguard how much I fuck with the dialog options at my disposal.

Also how *gorgeous* my MC is.

The game itself? I don't think it's for me (yet?) but I get what they're going for.

 

the complaints about dialogue options might be the most overblown part of the negativity. it’s literally a mash up of DA2 and inquisition’s dialogue wheels

 

I played way too many hours yesterday and yeah it only gains momentum and gets incredibly better the deeper you go. Again, I am nearly incapable of negatively criticizing a RPG because I am a simp but this one feels so legit.

 

Just finished the character creator, very deep. Idk if I missed how to make Inquisitor male, because I made a male template but only had female voices, so I just made a new female one that romanced Josephine.

 

the inquisitor creator was like weirdly hidden and hard to navigate I spent 10 minutes but backed out instead of saved and it wiped it. also weird they didn’t bring back my inquisitors specific haircut or any even remotely similar

 

yeah there wasn't an option to make him look remotely like what i had,

is there a way to disable the in dialogue summaries of what I picked? I'm not ten years old and don't need the summary and explanation of what I chose being told back to me.

 

Probably the graphically most well put together game I've ever seen. I am shook.

 

Finished the Opera House in Metaphor and my god what a sequence of events. This may end up being my favorite or second favorite from this team.

Couple hours in Veilguard, still not on board for character aesthetic changes, but the worlds and environments are beautiful. Writing so far is def a step down for bioware/expectations. The gameplay though is fantastic.

 

So to be clear I can’t import my Inquisitor save/appearance? Kinda defeats the purpose I’ll just creat a new character

 

I made my og Inquisitor a balding boss like Picard lol. If he’s not the same then I’ll riot

 

I think maybe only world state stuff? But you can just pick what it wants anyway.

In the end I ended up liking Metaphor so much I'm debating to do SMTV instead of Dragon Age next

... but then I keep playing Dragon Age and that game just keeps getting better. Blessed timeline.

you're not entirely wrong, there was a stretch of game around the 4th dungeon where both the story and the gameplay were just spinning it's wheel for like 5 hours (see also: Mortismal's review) and I do think there's plenty to criticize about that game but I still ended up pushing through and loving it!
