I went and quickly looked this up because I thought the timing was funny considering how popular TCG Card Shop Simulator has been on PC recently, and this PS5 game just looks like a super low quality asset rip of that game lol. check out the real game on PC if you can, it will almost certainly be a better experience than this slop

 

i saw that LAD: Infinite Wealth is turn based so i'm prob gonna hold off for now, i'm just not in the mood for turn based battles (and wait for more of a sale in the years to come)
i HAVE been playing a bunch of Lumines Remastered lately; i never played it before and i really love it.

my backlog is so overwhelming, why do i keep buying games

I deff do not regret picking rogue it's a ton of fun

 

Honestly from the opening sequence I get the good Mass Effect vibes.

 

I’m gonna do a mage spell blade next but rogue is my go to class in every RPG I touch. I did wind up completing both origins and 2 with mages and only did some of each with a rogue but I beat inquisition with a rogue twice (and mage once).

 

Bellara’s hair design is insane btw lol they cooked with that one

trying to finish trails through daybreak (literally at the end), SMTVV, while playing honkai star rail, ys x, metaphor and zenless zone zero. Plus since Xenoblade X was finally announced for the switch, I might just wanna replay 1-3 just for kicks.

for Neverwinter Nights i went with rogue multiclass first playthrough because i wanted to always have unlock and disable trap. with Dragon Age tho I always did mage/healer. I probably won't get Veilguard until after i've played BG3 tho, and anyway I'd wait for a sale. very few things are day-one buys for me

 

Oh I forgot to point out one thing I was thinking early on: cutscenes kind of have a bg3 vibe to them for me lol sorry not sorry

 

Anyone try out the new DLC for Vampire Survivors?? Looks like its a huge fucking DLC

I guess I do have a few more thoughts as I play more


-there is absolutely some dark borderline horror stuff happening, not like omg holy shit freaky stuff but there’s a quest that could’ve been straight out of Origins you do with Bellara pretty early so the “nothing dark happens” thing is just flat out not true
-the lighthouse as a main hub as a lot to live up to since skyhold is one of the best home bases in any game I’ve played but so far I dig it and am excited to see how it fleshes itself out as you move along the story
-this combat thooooooo jeeeez man def find myself using the tactical pause to dish out commands more than the quick buttons for my companions it’s just easier that way for me but it’s all very seamless



edit: also I wouldn’t really call the writing fully YA, more YA in the way Brandon Sanderson novels kind of border on YA, which is to say hardly at all but noticeably contrasts with more grim dark affairs. like this ain’t Diablo but it for sure isn’t marvel

 

I’ve never played anthem but from what I’ve seen gameplay wise I get the feeling they took the positive lessons they learned from that combat system and applied them here, things are flashy and crunchy and quick and seamless in the way that game looked to me

 

Reading @sophos34 thoughts on Veilguard is making the day at work agonizingly slow. Looking forward to jumping in tonight.
