I am excited for this to make me incredibly sad.

 

Their best since disintegration? Holy shit lol

 

I mean, I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if that's been said in reviews for every album since Disintegration. A similar spirit to ‘it's their best since White Pony’.

 

I always associate The Cure with November so it’s perfect release timing for this

 

tbf that's only 5 albums, but I will be astonished if it's better than Wish

 

Could easily see it being better than the other 4 though

 

Just got my vinyl shipping notification. Count on The Cure’s team to make sure these records actually ship out on the expected date

A very good impression all around, but the back half of this especially knocked me on my ass. Tremendous work here!

 

this is fucking beautiful.

 

I honestly am in awe of how good this is, how the hell are they pulling this off so late in their career, they seriously sound as young as ever

 

Yeah I switched back to what I listening to after the record was over, and The Funeral Party was the next song on the playlist. You wouldn’t even think I had changed the album

 

And Nothing Is Forever hits you with those Wish vibes right off the bat, let's fucking go

 

yeah this thing is fantastic, truly vindicates as if we didn't know already that they're one of the greatest bands to ever do it. an album of this quality in your mid-60s after a 15-year hiatus is unbelievable

think the only thing that didn't work for me is All I Ever Am, the vocal phrasing in the chorus is just offputing for some reason I can't put my finger on, and it doesn't really work between two absolute powerhouses like I Can Never Say Goodbye and Endsong (what a closer). sorta wish It Can Never Be the Same was in that spot instead, but other than that this is a beast

 

when they bring it full circle at the end with "left alone with nothing at the end of every song", goddamn. actual chills right there
