The new Mac mini is hot.

 

This was the one announcement I was most excited for. I miss my old Mac Mini. Seriously thinking of trading my M1 MBP for the new mini considering 95% of the time I use my MBP in clamshell mode with a monitor anyways.

 

oh dear my dad ordered me a new phone and it arrived and it is a 16 non-Pro.......yikes. idk what do, I do not want to downgrade from ProMotion and all the other Pro features.

 

Explain to him why you need a different model and hope wherever he ordered from has a generous return policy?

 

I need to figure out how to come up with the money but I think I’m going to do the Mac Mini M4 Pro. It’ll feel wonderful to clear up space on my desk by ditching the iMac. (Right now I have an iMac and a 32” monitor I use for a gaming laptop I share with my partner.)

 

This might be when I grab a M1 or M2 mini as a server, even though the smaller one is so very tempting.

 

MacBook Airs base models with 16 GB. Still M3 but wow. That's a steal.

 

This is when I'm going to upgrade. Might wait for M4 Airs but the value of the base level models is insane.

on a 2019 MBP. It's near its end and I'm so sick of the stupid butterfly keyboard (I think I've had it replaced twice already). Kind of want to wait to watch a good third party review of the M4s to see if it's worth it or just get an older model if significantly cheaper, but they've sounded promising.

 

having to pay an extra $600 for 1.5tb more memory will pain me so much . Pretty reasonable prices besides that I think.

 

Just bought an M3 air with 16GB three months ago. It's $250CAD less for the same unit now. F.

My AppleCare just lapsed on my M1 Air, think I'm going to renew it for a year knowing I may upgrade at some point but can get a refund. Having four pets means someone will inevitably try to spill something on the computer.

 

Thunderbolt 5 on the new Macs seems to indicate a ProMotion 5k screen is now possible?

I wish the TVOS would let you play Apple Music audio over video from other apps, like for sports. Don’t really need to listen to the broadcast of a random SEC game while doing stuff around the house.

 

I want a Mac Mini, but I was not aware of the scaling issues. Plugged my MacBook Pro into my gaming monitor just to see, and woof - even with BetterDisplay, I would also need to upgrade my monitor, which is going to be too much money.

So close to pulling the trigger on a Mac Mini. The only thing holding me back now is that the clarity of my 2015 iMac display is going to be VERY sorely missed. But I don’t think I want to go iMac again because I’m too used to displays 27” and larger.

 

Whatever display you’re planning on buying is going to be either way more expensive or way worse than had you just bought the new iMac.
