And that's why you always leave a note.

Such a depressing few days for this sort of thing.

Googled BLG and I still have no idea who you’re talking about. Unless it’s a league of legends clan?

I think the singer for Forever The Sickest Kids is as well. I'm sure there are more.

FTSK are from Texas so their support is not surprising.

i don't really care about ftsk. but BLG is a great band i've loved since i was a kid, and just saw their set at WWWY which was lovely. i know partnerships can exist across ideological lines, but i'd feel differently about martin's music if he were a trump supporter

Jordan from ETID's wife is too; not sure if they're still together though.

  13. People's partners having bad politics is a bit far removed for me personally, I don't have the time or interest or energy to analyze someone I don't know's relationship or what they agree on and how they make it work. If the musician/entertainer/person in question is publicly sharing harmful views, that's when I pay attention

Remember when Sydney Sweeney posted videos from family party (maybe her birthday?) and people attacked her and assumed she supported Trump because some relatives had MAGA hats on? I mean yeah she still could be, but there’s no reason to assume shit about these people that we don’t know. We all most likely have those relatives too. So if it doesn’t come from the horse’s mouth…

oh dear god didn't know about Jonny's wife. again spouses are tricky because you're not responsible for your partner's views, but that is awful to find out :(

I wonder how many of these are cases where the couple is married/together for a decade plus and then one of them became unexpectedly radicalized post-2016. I feel like a lot of the examples are from folks who are decades into being known and could presumably be trying to ride out a wild right turn in their long-term relationship. At least, I hope that’s the case and it’s not that they are secretly more right wing than they let on to their fans.

I would’ve laughed in anyone’s face if they told me 10 years ago that my parents would ever vote for Trump, yet here I am not able to still say that. So I definitely think that could be the case more than we think.

One survey representing less than .1% of the state's population with no cross-sectioning by race and gender. Not saying that there's not large progressive populations nor it's not possible for white dudes to be progressive, but there's a reason a strong majority of Texas's national reps and the statewide officials are shitty.

It has a lot to do with how districts are drawn, but yes we have possibly the worst state government in the country

anyway, don't want to derail the thread just pointing out the divide in Texas is not one sided at all
