This release is cool, but it’s not blowing me away. Seems like a lot of the songs were almost done by the time they hit the demo stage. Homecoming is kinda cool to hear with placeholder lyrics, and the pieces of songs is fun. But it feels like they have earlier versions they didn’t release.

And again, wtf with not remastering the live disc? Soooo quiet compared to everything else. Or releasing the video of the show? Release feels lazy if I’m being honest.

Honestly this whole thing is worth it since all the tracks are finally fucking separated on streaming lol

Very cool to see how Jesus Of Suburbia ended up being a "best of" a few songs pieced together

Alternate lyrics to these iconic songs is very trippy to hear haha

The alternate version of American Idiot is interesting...completely different lyrics.

Haven't dove into this yet, are there any demos that AREN'T of the songs that ended up on the album?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe every demo has at least a bit of a song that ended up on the album...a couple have parts that aren't on the album though, which is fun.

The AI demos actually made me emotional lmao, so cool to hear early versions of the songs that ended up making up my favorite album

Lowlife is definitely amazing, I can't believe they've been keeping that hidden for 20 years. The Homecoming demo is also super fun in how incredibly unhinged it starts out before morphing into the "real" song halfway through, such a cool insight into how the idea for the album was born

Homecoming is fucking wild, I remember them talking about how the song started at the time but I never figured it was a fully fledged part of the song. Lowlife sounds a lot like an early version of letterbomb X Gloria to me.

It's interesting how late a lot of the st jimmy/whatsername stuff was added imo, there's a few songs that are basically finished except for any references of them.

HD Tracks used to sell a specific, remastered version of American Idiot from 2012, I think...one that addressed the loudness/brick-walled issue...and I never got it. Now it's gone, for some reason. Anyone have that version by chance?

Can you ever hear the transition from Warning in these demos, so friggin cool

Speaking of Warning, surely the band is going to be releasing a 25 anniversary edition next year. Can’t wait for those demos and a live concert from that era.

Kind of bummed that Insomniac’s anniversary edition was so light on extras compared to Nimrod, Dookie and AI.

Sorry if this has been ask but are the proper album tracks on the reissue QUIETER than that of the original release? Just listened and the volume level was low until I got to the bonus tracks.

I haven’t listened to the actual album but the Irving Plaza live tracks are really quiet.

They'll definitely do Warning but I wonder if they'll stop there. I guess just 21CBD would be left? I can't imagine they have many useable b-sides or live performances from the Lookout era

I think most of the 21st b-sides are already out though, and there's a ton of officially released live performances from that era too

I doubt they have any B Sides for 21st, cause every song made that long ass album.

I’m sure they will do 21CB. Why bother keep milking these anniversary albums while they can.

There are approximately 7 B sides from that album that they can use. All of AI B sides were out and they still put them on the anniversary edition. Add demos and I’m sure there are live concerts they recorded for that era too they can use. I think it would be easy for them to do that.

Yeah, Lowlife, Favorite Son, and We Are The Champions are the new things here for me. All the other B-Sides I already had and the demos with different lyrics don't do a whole lot for me. Lowlife is basically a mix of 2 other released songs and an unreleased song all mashed together, it's worth having though

There are two already out, Lights Out and Hearts Collide
