I remember reading awhile ago that many within that Peter Thiel umbrella of the new conservative intellectual movement want to replace the US government with what sounds like an AnCap Monarchy. Where the entire US federal government is privatised and the executives/shareholders of the conglomerated former organs of the federal bureaucracy vote amongst themselves to elect a CEO King to oversee the enterprise. Basically they want the exact system of corporate monarchism as the Ferengi Alliance/Grand Nagus from Star Trek: DS9 in real life.

I am really afraid that is where we are eventually headed.

In exchange for extra food and jobs, cops would pledge loyalty to the Grays. Srinivasan recommends asking officers a series of questions to ascertain their political leanings. For example: “Did you want to take the sign off of Elon’s building?”

This refers to the August 2023 incident in which Elon Musk illegally installed a large flashing X logo atop Twitter headquarters, in violation of building safety codes. City inspectors forced him to remove it. This was the second time Musk had run afoul of the city in his desire to refurbish his headquarters: In July, police briefly halted his attempt to pry the “Twitter” signage from the building’s exterior. But in Balaji’s dystopia, he implies that officers loyal to the Grays would let Musk do as he pleases (democratically inclined officers, he suggests, can be paid to retire)

i think this election is definitely gonna have some wacky results where certain states that aren't usually close will be close and others that usually are close won't be

 

the only way this election gets called quickly and cleanly and without drawn out clusterfuckery is a trump landslide

 

difference is those Charlie Hebdo guys kinda deserved it

 

I don't know everything about this situation but what I've seen, its abundantly clear ADL is astroturfing the shit out of that dialog.

this is good, but again, if someone has a flight canceled the day of that they bought for $200 and they have to get home that day for child care, pet care, family, work, etc and they have to buy a same day ticket for $900+, that's not really that great. They should be required to book you on the next available flight out of the same airport regardless of airline.

 

I think the biggest question right now is does the “generic democrat”, which is what Harris seems to be trying hard to be, actually win a national election. I think it’s still possible when the opponent is as hated as Trump.

 

driving home thru Sherborn, Mass today I saw the largest trump sign I have seen so far. it was an enormous banner type thing with cables at each of the four corners and it just said TRUMP in the trump sign colors & font. I'm gonna try to snag a pic of it tomorrow. it caught me off guard today because I drive the same route almost every single day and it's never been there before and the location makes it kinda hard to see until the last second

 

I think Kamala wins just for the sheer fact we don't have James Comey getting goofy a week before the election.

 

I've seen some signs near me that have the "PE" in Pence painted over with "VA" for Vance. Which has led me to harbor the low-rent conspiracy theory that Vance was chosen because of the letters in his last name lol

 

I met a 94 year old Trump supporter today. He told my fiancé and me to “not worry because this country is going to rise again”.
