Everyone lives in their own bubble but for what it's worth, I'm in GA and I felt it was going blue last time (even though it was razor thin). If it's possible, it'll be as close, if not closer, should it remain blue for a 2nd straight election. I'm not going to unpack the myriad of reasons why, but I overhear a lot of conversations of people who just don't like Kamala and prefer Trump / 3rd party or even abstaining. Sadly my gut tells me that those sentiments will be commonplace throughout the country. The optimism of switching from Biden has quietly cooled.

 

That’s kinda how I’m feeling too. Most of of my leftist friends have even discussed abstaining from voting over Gaza. I will say that more Gen Xers than ever before seem to be going for Kamala. I know several folks who didn’t vote Biden but are voting for her.

 

I just hope it's called early. I'm already stressed about it and it's over a week away.

 

My gut is Harris wins because if polling is to be believed, and based on the issues/attitudes/rhetoric on certain issues, Harris seems to be holding onto Biden's old people numbers. Old people vote a lot. If she's not losing the old people the same way Obama did, she's got a good shot. I think some polling even has her up/tied on Trump with the 65+ vote. It's that Gen x 45-60 age range that's been the most Trumpy in the polls.

 

It's gonna be at least 4 days from what I've been hearing. Could be longer if the GOP tries their usual BS.

mail ballot states will be called the same night, the states that matter won't be called for several days. everywhere should have mail ballot voting so we can pre-count ballots leading up to election day and then have it all over that night.

 

Anecdotally speaking, I've seen far, far fewer Trump yard signs in rural Indiana and Illinois compared to 2016. I remember 2016 Trump signs well because they were just so prevalent that even local businesses were proudly displaying them. I don't believe this signals any kind of shift in favor of Harris, even though I see her signs with surprising regularity. Rather, I think there's just a bit less open enthusiasm surrounding him.
