I've started it a few times and never finished it, I like the idea of it a lot more than the execution but I'm trying out some mods I saw FightinCowboy using on stream and seeing how that impacts my experience

I played DS2 co op with a friend and it was great. Probably wouldn’t like it if I played it solo when it came out or now with how fast paced From combat is now. Good game

Been loving DS1 (mostly playing without guides unless I get stuck) but I died so fuckin much getting through Blighttown and the swamp at the bottom. Only section so far that I've gotten stuck trying to find my way around. A few times I legit just ran out of the toxin cure item and died trying to get back to bonfire thanks to those dart bastards. Managed to get through Quelaag and find the other firekeeper though. Now Im at the point where firelink has been fucked up thanks to that gold knight guy. I did cheat a bit to look up his quest since they can be pretty convoluted sometimes and I didnt wanna miss anything. Just glad to be out of that dumpster fire section of the game.

oh I also ended up getting the rusted ring like 30 min after leaving the swamp so fuck me lol

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

Ok so Im pretty much finished up with Anor Londo in DS1. Somehow got through Ornstein & Smough on my first attempt which was pretty cool. Think I did the easy version of the fight though since I killed the small dude first but oh well. Im trying to play most of my first run without looking anything up if I can avoid it.

I feel like whether or not there's an easy version of the fight is pretty subjective considering targeting a specific one first is difficult to do depending on who you can get caught on the pillars and you can make it harder on yourself by targeting a specific one. So IMO a kill is a kill haha

Also think it helps I went into this already having delt with some of the more recent punishing combo boss battles like Godskin Duo which is more along the lines of what I expected here. Nothing in this fight came close to frustrating me like the Godskin Noble's wrecking ball moves.

Yeah O&S is better designed. I'm not a Godskin Duo hater but I do think this is the gold (heh) standard for duo fights in FromSoft.

People love Demon Prince but I find the AI kinda wonky in it, I like the idea of it but it kinda drags too. But it's overall okay

Godskin Duo is good with the shared health bar but yeah that roll attack isn't the best and the pillars being destructible makes it annoying but I do like it

Valiant Gargoyles is the absolute worst

  14. Started Sekiro last night and while I worry this game may be beyond my gaming capabilities, I'm doing okay in the early game. I didn't realize the mikiri counter was an acquired skill and thought my timing was just shit when I was up against the early spear shinobi. Once I realized it was a skill, I beat him on the next attempt after acquiring it. I need to get better at crowd control and dealing with the arrow/range boys. Is it just me, or do From's range enemies have the greatest accuracy of all time?

Just keep it going. it takes a while for the parry to click, but once it does, oh boy is it so much fun.

One of the things that would infuriate me playing Dark Souls 2 was the uncanny ability of the archers to anticipate exactly where I was intending to jog with their slow little meandering arrows.

  17. So Sekiro has taken over my life and it's all that I can think about. I'm currently in the midst of doing all that I can to prepare for Genichiro. I'm up to 8 flasks and would like to get the fifth prayer necklace. Lady Butterfly was far and away the biggest wall for me so far but I could really feel a difference in how I was playing once I finally beat her and everything since has gone much more smoothly.

  18. Genichiro down after 8 attempts! Lady Butterfly took like 40 lol. His second phase was the hardest for me since he'd alternate between the thrust and the sweep after the downward strike and I kept getting it wrong.

  19. I'm into the endgame/Fountainhead and while I'm feeling pretty good about where I'm at "build" and combat-wise, I'm still prepared to be throughly humbled. Great Shinobi Owl took me a couple of hours and I've decided that I have no desire to fight him again this playthrough so I'm going to skip the other fight.

  20. Also, I really wish I could tell past me to stock up on Spirit Emblems before the price went up to 50

Don't skip the second Owl fight! It is goated (and slightly LESS annoying than the one at the top of the Castle impo)

  22. It was a struggle but I decided to go fight him. My strategy to beat the GSO was to tank the no heal bomb since he did it so often and always left him quite open. This time I was able to get through him with mikiri counters and waiting for the combo with the firecrackers since those were easy enough to dodge to get an opening. The camera and small-ish arena did me no favors.

  25. I'm now at the final bosses and this is going to take a while. Genichiro is experiencing the worst ever groundhog's day since I can get through him hitless, but Isshin is whooping my ass. This fight in particular is really making me wish that all resurrects were refilled during rests since grinding those gets old fast.
