I mean, it's going to be make me sound like a liberal weenie, but it really is distressing to see articles about how young people voting for the first time are starkly split on the gender line between red and blue. Social media and these 'all for men's ears only' podcasters / influencers, are poisoning young minds and teaching them that it's okay to punch down, and that it's soft to have a social conscience.

I can't play social video games anymore without muting everyone as there's so much racism and vitriol spouted out as 'humor'. The N / B / F words are spouted out nonstop, and then you're trolled for trying to ask people not to do that. It's always 'I'm just joking / they're just words / don't be so soft'.

I don't have an answer to stop this from exacerbating.

Right...I said it back during the primaries when no one was giving Biden a chance that he's good at showing people he cares and is a human. He's got a personality that yes is abrasive for a politician but in the age of Trump, it's pretty tame. Whereas Harris comes off as not willing to be herself/not willing to take a stance that hasn't been focused grouped/etc. I can't tell if it's because Biden people are still mostly in control and there's a rift there/worry of splitting with Biden admin on anything or if she's truly just too politician-y. It's probably a combo of both but man she gives a lot of HRC vibes off as a candidate. She's lucky she doesn't have the 30 years of baggage that HRC did.

No it was definitely the identity pieces of it, her being a first woman and black woman VP was a big deal for representation. And by all accounts she was decent at her job as a senator. Her prosecutor background played great in the senate hearings she participated in, her grilling of Bill Barr was fantastic lol. But with Biden being an old, experienced, white dude, they wanted some diversity on the ticket and didn't need to pick a VP That was particularly great or experienced at anything the same way OBama picked Biden due to his experience with foreign policy and etc. Though of course that was also a diversity pick as they wanted an old white dude to run with the first black presidential candidate lol. But yeah she's really bad at being a politician

 

I have no idea who the fuck tony hinchiffe is but a comedian speaking during a political rally at Madison Square Garden for trump 9 days before the election is different than him just doing standup or babbling on a podcast or whatever the fuck that person does for his day to day

Julian Castro's name was floated too but Biden really wanted to go woman and obviously there was a rift there after Castro called him too old during the primary lol. But would have been a great pick.

 

Yeah I think the reason Trump went with Vance was partly due to the Biden/Kamala success in age difference instead of going for another old man like Pence.

Par for the course, and like any other time she takes a right-wing position, most liberals won’t even bat an eye and will even think it’s a “good” or “smart” answer. They’re all but getting permission to not feel guilty about not standing up for trans folks.
