The amount of bands I watched last year standing near Anthony Green all weekend was wild. I swear he was there every time I looked to my left or right in a crowd with his kid.

 

If you do dig Sao a lot, Beau's Discord is a good spot. There and on Twitch he's way more open than most artists. Not scared to drop some juicy info.

 

Any good tidbits he’s shared?

i saw them a bunch with cove back in the day but this woulda been the first time since he came back, glad to hear it was a good set/show!

 

Just dropping this in here. Three members of As I Lay Dying quit the band, leaving just the abhorrent lead singer and one other member; Saosin's guitarist Phil.

I saw where one of the members said it was some sort of “moral failing” or something which is pretty wild considering you knew the lead singer tried to have his wife killed before joining the band.

yeah Phil Sgrosso filled in for Justin for a while but maybe this year or last year he became a permeant member

Oh snap, completely forgot to mention that I ran into Cove at WWWY while watching Boys Like Girls. Supposedly a lot of people ended up talking with him, but he was SO kind and truly felt like he was giving time to talk. He mentioned big touring plans for next year, so that's pretty exciting.

 

Apparently the other OG members of AILD who all came back after Lambesis wanted to get back together but left after the last album had to sign NDAs when they left, so it's safe to say Phil could be in a similar situation.

I know it's easy to dunk on anyone choosing to be bandmates again with Tim, but something tells me they were convinced he had truly changed when the band reformed and ALL of them agreed to come back. Obviously that didn't prove to be true, since they all left, leaving Phil and hired guns standing.

All I'm saying is I wouldn't let it color how you feel about Phil in Saosin because of his involvement in AILD, past or present, with the info we currently have.

 

Who cares if they thought he was different? They willingly JOINED A BAND WITH A MAN THAT TRIED TO HAVE HIS WIFE MURDERED. That’s enough on its own to know that they suck.

 

The AILD singer is obviously a worthless scumbag, but taking the guilt-by-association thing to an extreme where you detest their bandmates too just strikes me as cheap and petty. I always wonder what a lot of the people who talk shit would actually do if they were locked into an extremely niche career with a "coworker" who turned out to be a POS years into something you've poured your whole adult life into. It's a choice none of us normies will ever even have to ponder seriously, let alone make with our livelihoods and possibly our family's future at stake.

Were they locked into a career with him? Could they not have just continued with Wovenwar?

In any case, they all left, so how does this defense apply to the new guys, who also all just left?

That is the wildest and worst false comparison I've seen on this site and yes, if I knew someone tried to kill their wife I absolutely wouldn't make the conscious choice to go into business with them BECAUSE of my family's safety and mine

 

Yeah that’s fucking wild. They were all doing their own thing & went back to the band. The scenario isn’t even what you’re explaining, but to entertain you, yes I would quit a job that I’m working if my direct business partner tried to have his wife murdered.
