I think on the face much of these type of videos are stupid because particularly with the right wing guys they bring on they tend to speak fast, stick to their talking points, and it takes longer to actually disapprove their bullshit than what is allotted. Which is why this clip is so great because he called out Ben for doing exactly this. There not as bad as right wingers debating college kids but they would rank right below those.

 

I was just visiting my parents and I love them, but if I never watch MSNBC again in my life I’ll be more than okay. It is the most cringey neoliberal punditry.

I hate to say this too, but I watched Colbert every night while I was there too and he’s basically a real life version of his Comedy Central character, only liberal now. RIP to the Colbert Report.

Yea, I just don’t think people should be engaging grifters like Shapiro or Kirk, but maybe someone who follows them will see them and realize how dumb they are.

 

Conservatives thrive on the fact that it takes longer to unravel and disprove their bullshit than it does for them to tell it.

Also think these type of shows normalize right wing positions.

I watched Ms. Doubtfire with my kids last week and there’s the scene at the restaurant where the host asks if they want to be seated in the smoking section or not. My son was insanely confused

It is wild to think of how people could smoke... Everywhere. There was a 50s breakfast and lunch diner nearby in the next town over as a kid, and I remember that place being absolutely filled with smoke lol. Same with The 99s (a New England chain).

I don't get how people put up with it, I would be choking to death now

 

As an asthmatic, fuck that.

 

When I first started going to the bar they were all smoking and I even thought they shouldn’t ban smoking in bars because people work hard and deserve to have a beer and a smoke but now I think you know what they can do that outside or at home, it’s nice to not have a little less poison in the air and not smell like smoke if I go out.
It’s wild that we were allowing kids in smoking sections right up until restaurant bans.

 

yeah I mean just go outside lol. it's not the end of the world

also gives you an opportunity for a change of environment throughout the night

unless you're not doing it socially and you're like a chainsmoker or whatever in which case that sucks
