That sounds like the dying final years of Warped Tour all of over again if that was real lol

  3. Yeah I’d watch LTJ and maybe Pennywise. That’s all. Haha

Same. As great as both are live, I wouldn’t pay $150 just for short sets from the both of them

It’s gonna be AP.net’s dream lineup across the board, but Matty Mullins will be singing for all bands.

For me the fact that Lyman hinted i'd be a nod to the past while bringing in newer bands has me hyped, I feel like When we were young already gave us some of the biggest and very best of the nostalgic emo/ pop punk/ post hardcore of the 2000s that if Warped Tour can be a mix of old and new i'd be better off for it.

Another thought I had was 100 gecs would fit the warped tour vibe as far as new artists so well

The fact that people still have brand loyalty to the name "Warped," removed from any of the bands or ethos that made it good, is ridiculous to me. This iteration of Warped will have none of the DIY effort and community that made it special in the first place, so all we have left is the idol culture and underlying misogyny that should honestly stay dead.

It’s not that deep. People just like having fun and seeing a bunch of the music they enjoy

So can someone clarify what the deal is with tickets right now? This is still the pre-sale, right? But we don't know when the general sale will actually be?

A trash lineup to you could be a fun filled day to someone else. All depends!

Warped tour account posted "final ga and vip passes are going quick" so this might be it. But resale after the lineup drops and people realize blink and MCR aren't playing might be an option

Have they mentioned what the capacity is for each date? Curious how many tickets they’ve sold

I haven’t seen a capacity. Seems either Orlando is selling worse or they have greater capacity for that one

Even though there is a valid criticism that they should have released the lineup or part of it, this right here! Kevin lyman has how many excellent lineups that he has delivered and the last one that was a big anniversary one was great too. I totally get not wanting to drop money before the lineup but to call others out or try to shame them is actually ridiculous especially since it is common for festivals to do the presale before releasing the lineup. I think a lot of us have faith that Kevin lyman will deliver on a good lineup and if we are wrong we'll know for next time.

Definitely larger in Orlando. Drew some polygons on Google earth by referencing past festival maps.

Warped AC (which apparently had 30k per day) was about 16 acres. Project glow DC was about 20. And EDC Orlando looks like it was at least around 40-45 acres, though could be more, not sure how much of the stadium concourses were open. Looks like they had over 100k per day last year.

I just wish people would wait to see whether any bands they care about are playing, instead of just forking over money to Live Nation for the hell of it.

This happens with festivals when people trust the brand. Newport Folk Festival sells out before the line-up drops every year. I can't think of other names but I know it's happened before... Basically, if people trust the brand, they'll buy tickets.

And I think the line-up they put together for the prior two festival dates in NJ and CA probably play a role in that trust right now. I'm with people here saying it'll probably be a "smaller" line-up in terms of headliners but it'll probably be deeper as far as the number of bands go. That and Warped is a unique thing where, regardless of the bands that play people can say "going to Warped Tour" like they did in high school/college and get that hit. Haha.

Personally, it's not a risk I'm willing to take. But I also lost all interest in the tour from like, 2010 and on so I'm probably not the target demo, anyway... Seems like you aren't either.

But clearly people are into it. So whatever. It'll be interesting to watch the line-up drop week to week and the reaction people have as it unfolds.

what a shitty post. why do you care if people are confident a lineup with 100 bands will have enough for them? not to mention much cheaper price when they went on sale

I think the sentiment of we need to collectively not just pay the high prices to livenation if we want a better and cheaper experience is a valid one, but I agree it doesn't fit here that well as 1) this warped tour run seems reasonably priced and 2) with 2 days, and the storied name, there's no way it won't get a solid lineup. Some will complain it's too nostalgic, or too new, but I have feeling it'll hit for a lot of people.

Prices are going to remain high if we pay high. It's going to take either government action (lol) or an organized strike / revolt (also lol) to get prices down. It's also going to take some economic changes as well, as the reality is that touring is not that cheap and it's not just livenation greed for higher prices. Staffing venues and moving bands and equipment around the country has a cost that's higher than it used to be.
