Brian Thomas Jr made me the wrongest I've been about any player in a very long time and I had to memorialize the moment when I finally gave in and was like "fuck me I'm a wrong asshole, BTJ rules" hahah

 

Winning a huge downfield contested catch on Jalen Ramsey and then talking shit to HIM instead of the other way around in your first NFL game is just badass lol. It was early in the game too, Ramsey didn't even have a chance to get in his head.

My favorite part is Jalen's actually smiling in the photo, like "damn okay I actually respect this young buck, he a fighter"

So far he has looked like he shoulda went in the top 10 instead of Odunze lol. Absolutely nuts how far his route running and the consistency of his catch point skills have come in such a short time. This is why you draft 20-year-olds if they're already really good I guess. A 24-year-old isn't gonna suddenly surprise you after that extra exposure to high level college football, but BTJ's skillset very much wasn't done developing and his dominance at LSU really only showed one side of what he was capable of.

 

I wanted to believe "smart, reliable player without special athleticism" works in the NFL, but those stories are incredibly rare and getting more and more rare as the league gets more and more athletic overall. Now I see it from a much more layered perspective of how many hoops a guy has to jump through athletically before all the things his coaches teach him even WORK on the field lol. You can do everything right route running-wise but these DBs are too damn good at recovering and reacting to give up more than a few inches of space to anybody who isn't lightning fast.

Also another reason to love BTJ is he was initially a basketball player. Dude has only played football for like 5 years
