oooh new Pest Control? their last album was so fun

 

This sounded a little too generic to me. Probably had a lot to do with going from Better Lovers to this though.

 

Saw Fit For An Autopsy last night and they fucking ripped. I was so disappointed in the crowd size and thought they would have had a bigger pull (upstairs of venue was closed and downstairs was only half full), but I pushed up and everyone was so into it that it felt like a packed show. In the end a small but majorly energetic crowd and some early Halloween costumes too which made for some hilarious moshing and crowd surfing visuals.

They have their mix down incredible live. Normally riffs and solos get lost when I'm wearing my ear plugs, but everything shone through perfectly. Joe killed it on the harsh vocals but the cleans from some of the new songs were a little rough but overall, a GREAT sounding live band.

Bodysnatcher opened. Crowd loved it but their style isn't for me. Too much of the super slow breakdown stuff. Was hard for me to get into.

Having a great year for metal shows!

 

New Pest Control EP rips

 

This was the one non-released new song they played. Still working through the album to determine what the stand outs are but on first listen, this is a good one.

hey y'all. i usually stay away from self-promo, but my band released our new record today. every band ever says "this is our best album yet," but i really do feel it's true for us. we get lumped into post-metal quite a bit, if that's of interest to you. i'm still not entirely sure what "post-metal" really is, but if the shoe fits.
