This must a Megan Thee Stallion variant. Unless She Hulk and Venom are 1 degree separated? The multiverse, am I right?

yeah it's getting hammered (though the other two weren't exactly raved about). i liked what i saw, albeit with caveats. the stuff with juno temple and chiwetel ejiofor is kind of a waste, and there's times in hindsight where some might be able to tell this was made amidst the strike last year. plus a very weird montage. but there's still plenty of eddie/venom stuff that was always the highlight of the trilogy, and i'd say that yet again is worth seeing, at least with something like a-list. i definitely don't think it's as terrible as the reviews are saying, i'm sure of that

Well one cannot deny that is certainly a movie that is almost two hours and features a montage set to Maroon 5 and credits that play that overplayed Morgan Wallen/Posty song. What an experience.

I probably won’t see this until Sunday. Alas.

Any thoughts on what the credit scenes mean for the future of The Sony Universe of Marvel Characters?

in all fairness, about 25 minutes of that 1:50 runtime is the credits

  19. If they made a Morbius, Madame Web, Venom and Kraven team-up movie I'd honestly want to see that more than any MCU movie

I was pumped when the opening (after a Knull lore dump) was literally the NWH credit scene, and then when he goes back to his earth, it’s the same bar & bartender but shittier, to which Venom says, this is better! And acts dismissive towards the multiverse. I was like, girl, same.

…unfortunately, the movie as a whole was a step down after the concentrated joy of Let There Be Carnage. Still fun at times, but definitely not quite what I hoped for. Alas.

Shoutout to Juno Temple as Dr Teddy Payne, aka Agony. The backstory with her brother and the lightning was truly baffling, and I choose to believe she and the Christmas lady were a couple, and… yeah, idk, that speedy goo thing at the end without resolution was nonsense, lol. Put her on the Sinister Six and have her battle Knull in a movie only I will watch.

Oh, and that conspiracy alien family was pretty amusing.

As much as I do like self contained, not tied to the MCU stories… I gotta say I’m a little tired of seeing these Spider-Man villain movies without any Spider-Man. I liked this movie well enough, I was entertained by Venom as a trilogy but dammit I want to see him fight spidey

Ok but to be fair, there have been over 200 issues of solo Venom in the comics, many very successful, many without Spidey, lol. This isn’t an off the wall pitch like Kraven. I’ll have fun when there’s a movie with some version of both characters someday, but that’s not what makes or breaks Venom.

I do wonder what the next step is. Personally, I think it’s most likely that this movie was made with the intention of leading to a Sinister Six with Knull as the villain. But, do they have enough gas to get there? Of course not, lol. Depending on what the plans are for Doomsday and Secret Wars, maybe that Spider-Man movie between them could have these Venom threads incorporated into a Battleworld? If that’s the angle Marvel Studios is taking.

(Also funny that, like… there’s presumably still the bit of goo left in the “MCU” after NWH. In addition to the sample left here.)
