I'm still really confused as to how people talk about this festival like it has any sort of morality, ethics, or principles guiding it. They'll book whoever.

They're obviously overpaying artists to try and choke out other festivals. They clearly didn't have the artists in mind with the album play idea and what's come out about that. They're pretty bad as far as diversity in the line-up is concerned. And they show zero interest in "developing" newer artists.

It's literally a way for LiveNation to print money. No more, no less. I get why people enjoy it and I find the line-up curation super interesting/fun to look at... But this fest is as soulless, corporate, and separate from the hypothetical "scene" as it gets.

Its not intended to develop new artists, its proudly and unabashedly a nostalgia festival. The other 19,000 festivals can worry about developing new artists.

For a festival catered to pure nostalgia, I feel like they still did a decent job at developing some newer artists. At a quick glance they've had Beach Bunny, Daisy Grenade, Games We Play, Meet Me at the Altar, The Veronicas, Kennyhoopla, Ekkstacy, Magnolia Park, Hot Mulligan, Mom Jeans, Alex G, Nessa Barnett, Royal and the Serpent, Jxdn, The Paradox and Carr.

Yes, and it's not even close. Not to mention, their last 3 or 4 tours, they don't even play anything over Fever except the obvious song.

Interesting thoughts - did you think VIP was too packed both days? I thought Sunday was okay but admittedly I wasn't in there the whole time nor trying to really get too close. Didn't do both days.

I disagree on the starting line, I think they've always sounded fantastic and they nailed it again this time. I thought the stage they played at, the bass was too loud in general including them, but no points taken off since it seemed like a stage and not a band problem.

For sure. But that wasn't really the central point of my post which was that it's weird that people talk about this festival as if they need or should care about those things... You can't apply the same standards to this one as you could try to apply to Warped Tour back in the day or any of the other niche music festivals.

I mean, yeah, there's some younger bands on there. But a lot of those have been around for nearly 10 years now and play decent-sized clubs already. I wouldn't call most of them "new." But, then again, I have a co-worker who goes to this every year and called New Found Glory "underground" so I may be offbase there. LOL

John // OC now, OH forever.

A Fever set with full production would be huge, but they didn't exactly end on good terms so I can't imagine they really get back together unless some SERIOUS concessions were made regarding payments.

Maybe they sounded better one day than the other then, I've just never seen them sound good unfortunately lol and yes to it being packed both days but Saturday was definitely worse. Just compared to last year

the fact that they are referred to as “the band that doesn’t get named”
And people know who you are talking about Brand New is why they’d be asked to headline and no doubt headline any festival at this point let alone wwwy….however I highly doubt they do it

Up to this point When we were young has felt like a nostalgic Warped Tour on steroids, bringing back bands that became too big to play Warped Tour, i'd be weird if bands like The killers headlined.

A "Plans" 20th anniversary album playthrough would be sick, Blink 182 playing one of these albums Enema- Untitled, The offspring playing Smash or Americana, Thrice playing Vheissu, Panic at the disco doing a greatist hits or Fever, I know it might be a small chance but Angels and airwaves playing We dont need to whisper or Box car racer, Rise against playing the sufferer, Jew playing Futures, Circa playing Blue sky noise.

They would definitely be headlining if they were. If they were to perform The devil and god or Deja that would have insane drawing power.

Don't know what they could possibly pull out for next year, but I do wanna see some scene adjacent bands. Papa Roach, Weezer, Sublime, Third Eye Blind, Breaking Benjamin etc.

Im surprised they havent invited Real Friends to play in any of the past 3 editions.

Also having Enter Shikari to play Take to the Skies this year would have been dope as they are curently touring the US

The only way I can see Box Car Racer ever reuniting is if they did a Box Car/+44 combo set, kinda like what Death Cab and Postal Service did last year. Any other time I’d say that’s a ridiculous farfetched idea, but Mark has already said they’ve jokingly talked about doing a Blink adjacent band festival one day

Another route they could have taken was booking a majority of the acts that were big on the Monster stage in the last 5ish years of Warped. But it looks like Sick New World already grabbed some of those acts.

WWWY takes ‘25 off and then comes back in ‘26 with a three day iteration. +44/ AVA one day. Boxcar the next and then closing with blink.
Otherwise that’s asking a lot out of Barker.

At this point I highly doubt Box car racer would ever come back at all, I wrote small chance because it is more of wishful thinking that it happens for a nostalgia festival like this.

Aren’t there a bunch of festivals that have Nu Metal and Alt Rock already? Probably spread across a few days too.
