This movie had more of an effect on me at a young age than any R rated movie did. Lmao

Watched Freaks of Nature, baffling movie. They have it a 30 million dollar budget and then didn’t even do a wide release because it was so bad. What a mess.

I’ve had that one downloaded forever. I guess I’ll continue to not be in a rush to watch it. Lol

  6. Always recommending Tusk to folks looking for something light (jk, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was plenty fun though)

Also have wanted to see Freaks of Nature just for Mike Mitchell lol

Monster Squad...well I don't know if it's "light" but it's certainly not scary for anyone over hte age of 13 haha

That's another one I saw when I was little. Honestly the scariest part of that movie for me was Dracula's vampire brides, their look was creepy as hell to me lol

  11. Speaking of kids watching horror movies, we watched Smile 2 on our trip today. Aside from those who just don't enjoy the genre (sadly they were out-voted by their classmates), they all really enjoyed it. They started doing the relief laugh after a good jump scare, and they really appreciated the psychological horror aspect of the movie. They were talking about the ending the entire train ride home. Many of them are going to watch the original tonight, which imo is a lighter film.

They liked dread-inducing horror the most, so tomorrow is Hereditary at a local theatre!

Regarding Terrifier, two of the students new to horror, but truly getting into it, watched the first one yesterday. Both of them thought that Smile 2 is "more appropriate" and decided that we shouldn't go see the new Terrifier based on their experience with the first. We weren't going to because my co-teacher and I already decided it was too much for what is ultimately a school trip, but it was nice to see their maturity and judgement.

Damn I got the original with the kickstarter they did. Kinda bummed I can’t afford to back this one right now.

It looks like they spent 30 million, but with writing that bad and an unlikable protagonist they really shouldn’t have.

  18. I've seen Tiktoks of ppl dressed as Sue from The Substance, and I think the May Queen from Midsommar was a popular Halloween costume a while back, but I'm not sure if I'd consider either of those horror icons, still feels pretty niche

Personally, I don’t think they’re that niche. These things aren’t becoming this popular because everyone is seeing it, they’re this popular because everyone is talking about them and posting on social media. Those two examples are more like cultural icons in general than specifically horror icons. A lot of people are getting this stuff from clips and memes and won’t even watch the movies. We’re all too online now to not just know big movie culture references

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I saw The Shining when I was 8 and I'm fine (narrator who sounds like Pennywise: he's not fine)

Did Philly offend the people at Alamo Drafthouse or something? What did I do to deserve this?
