man I miss Hannibal, what a show

 

I wish Bryan Fuller had been given the opportunity to be as prolific as Ryan Murphy

 

I just realized I didn’t report on Street Trash. 100% loved it, it’s gotta be one of the best cult movies I’ve ever seen. Just nonstop fun and one of the most ridiculous movies ever made, more people should watch a movie about bum wine that melts people.

 

I'm tempted to try Hysteria! and Teacup but Peacock generally churns out trash.

Any thoughts?

 

Teacup is …interesting but idk if it’ll ultimately be worth the time invested

 

Will probably wait until it wraps up before investing time.

I carved out the first hour of the Doctor Sleep director's cut last night. It's been a few years but I can't wait to start it back up later tonight.

Then I think I'm going to jump into Halloween 4, 5 and 6 later this week.

 

I think I might slightly prefer The Dream Child to The Dream Master? Neither are great, but The Dream Child is SO mean-spirited and gross and bonkers (M.C. Escher staircase??) and nonsensical...it's kind of impressive.

My school runs a week-long project-based-learning/trip-oriented event for our students, so my co-teacher and I made one around horror movies where the students will end with making TikTok reviews about one of the movies we watched.

Started off with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as a warm-up for frights later in the week (Smile 2, Scream [2022]), and we already had someone cry in relief after a jump scare. Another covered their eyes during a creepy corn maze sequence. For reference, they are all high school students.

Got me thinking: What would you consider are strong introductory horror movies?

 

Yeah not sure i'm interested in a drawn out version of the story lol.

 

i have little familiarity with the source material, but i'm pretty sure this doesn't need to be 8 episodes. even still, i'm looking forward to more Flanagan, so i'm cautiously optimistic.

 

A show about a woman getting bullied and abused for 7 episodes before finally extracting revenge in ep 8 isnt my idea of a good time.

 

A Carrie series doesn't really sound appealing to me either. If anything, I'd like to see an adaptation of Tiffany D. Jackson's novel that retells the story

 

I'm 3 episodes into Hysteria! and still having fun with it. Cast is pretty great. Only watched the first episode of Teacup but it's an interesting one so far

 

Never heard of this retelling. Might look into it.

 

It's called The Weight of Blood. I really like what she did with it

 

Poltergeist is number one with a bullet.
