I was gonna say Roe, reinstating trump border policy and kids in cages, restarting student loans, Palestine. Hmmmm not sure I’m convinced

I’m confident saying human suffering worsened under Bush, worsened under Obama, worsened under Trump, and worsened under Biden. Harris is running on worsening it, too. A half-measure policy that served primarily to bolster the position of insurance companies and failed to address the systematic insufficiencies of American healthcare doesn’t make up for that.

" Even if Trump wins or loses this election we are still going to be living in Trump's America. He might lose this election and the Democrats will push Trump's 2020 agenda, that is what they're running on. To me that is genuinely terrifying to think about"

He's that far ahead that he's literally making racist jokes at rallies. Well done Harris. Go high and not low or some dumb shit.

That's what I wish I knew. 538 will mention factoring in but nothing nuts and bolts. Which leads me to believe they have no confidence in it. Which is fair due to an n of 2.

I think there are ways to make arguments against voting for Harris that aren’t simply being reductionist about things that helped millions of people. The ACA did a lot more than what yorue representing here and I think leftists get very grumpy about admitting to that simply because it didn’t end privatized health care in the process and I think that’s dumb. And it of course also conveniently implies that the Dems were going to do that all along and thus imply it doesn’t matter who is in office when everyone old enough to remember knows they were Joe Liebermann away from having a public option.

Anyway, it’s okay to admit Obama is right that it does matter who is in office and that the two examples he provided are good ones to that point. Doing so means neither that you like the guy or that you’re calling his presidency a tremendous success haha

I’m not - nor have i ever been - making an argument to vote against Harris. I think if there’s an argument I’ve made in here historically, it’s that real change (if we want it) will require people doing political work outside the bounds of electoralism. Vote for who you want. I’m personally not interested in hearing from Obama on a weekend when we’re seeing photos of Palestinians in death queues, as supported by his Party.

EDIT: rereading your post, why are you pointing to arguments I didnt make? “It’s okay to admit Obama is right” i didn’t say he was wrong! I wouldn’t believe all living American presidents belong in The Hague if i thought they didn’t make a difference. I said he’s responsible for a lot of people feeling negatively about electoral politics. I think it’s pretty self-evidently true that there are plenty of people who feel that way, as he is taking a break from hanging out with Richard Branson or whoever to speak to that very point. You don’t need to prostrate yourself for the Dems every chance you get. They’d let Netanyahu eat you and your family with a fork and knife on TV if he wanted to.
