Thankfully Chris Seaver’s 2024 Halloween Marathon allows you to FF.

  2. I watched All Hallows' Eve the other night, and thought it was bad but in a fun way. Currently watching Terrifier, and it somehow feels worse? I just want some motivation or world-building or something other than clown gimmick. I feel like the movie doesn't stand on that alone despite how entertaining Art is.

Do Terrifier 2 and 3 improve on that at all, or are Art's stories just not for me?

2 and 3 do a lot more world building and actually creates motivations and provides a story/plot. 1 is paper thin comparatively

I held off the on the Substance so the hype wouldn’t interfere with my expectations, but the film is fucking wild. I’m going to need some time to process it.

It’s a fantastic book, I bought a copy because I enjoyed it that when I initially read it. It’s a fantastic look at that decade in essay form and it’s recommended reading it while listening to 90’s music.

  13. Yeah, I loved Klosterman through college, and I'm not 100% sure all of his stuff holds up but I still have a major soft spot for it. I just dug up my copy of Killing Yourself to Live and plan on rereading it. Will definitely check that one out!

  14. Someone I follow on LB reviewed a Troma movie I'd never heard of called Bugged from 1997 that I guess is like a black version of Ghostbusters about killer crickets? 100% on my radar now

Yo this fucking rules. Wade through 45 mins of hangout scenes that feel like Dazed and Confused deleted scenes set in 91 and then you get a lofi Evil Dead/Night of the Demons ripoff with some incredible gore. I love this!

Was surprised to find how many of the additions made to the Exorcist’s director’s cut (that I’ve always thought were goofy/unnecessary) audibly worked on the audience last night, haha.

It was a much younger crowd, too, who I have to assume were seeing it for the first time. It’s a testament to that movie’s staying power that you could sense how deeply uncomfortable people were during several of the Regan scenes, rather than giggling at things that have been parodied/copied/referenced to death.

Still prefer the theatrical cut, though. It just moves better.

  25. Hit the open bar at a surprise party a little too hard and fell asleep by 10:45 last night. I get two nights a week to stay up all night watching movies and I haven't watched anything this weekend. I'm so mad at myself lol
