I actually don’t generally have an issue with Flanagan and enjoy a lot of his stuff. Just commenting that I’ve never felt he tried to make anything scary. That’s all

Smile 2 was... okay. I didn't love the first by any stretch but thought it played better than the new one. I also wasn't huge into Skye as a character. I'm kind of surprised the RT score is so high.

Mr. Crockett felt cozy and nostalgic despite never watching the film before. What a fun movie.

Not getting the smile 2 hype. Thought it was repetitive, boring, and didn’t make any sense / it didn’t follow its own logic.

 

Concur. unlikeable main characters are a dealbreaker for me, regardless of how awesome her performance is.

Smile 2 was better overall than the first but also didn’t build upon the world at all and basically was just the first one with a more unlikeable lead (tho Naomi was great) and same exact story.

you want the sequel to push the world or overall story further and this doesn’t do that. Just has a bigger budget.

I didn’t hate it by any means just don’t feel it proved that it should have existed I guess.

It’s funny how both films have a pretty positive ending now thinking about it

 

yeah I love toxic self-destructive assholes in my horror movies, they remind me of myself
