    Let it run Supporter

I didn’t listen to it all yet but the vocals on the first track seem…off. Maybe it’ll click on further listens. He kinda sounds Bemis-y

    Mostly positive first listen.

Some moments stuck out like a sore thumb though. Like I was loving "Positively 34th Street" until the gang vocals on "So I hit send" made me audibly chuckle.

Chicago is such a good song. I’m really loving this. I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to it because I’ve never been quiteeee as big on them as everyone else (I mean, I liked CR a ton when it came out but they’re not really a band I think about very often) but I’ve listened to this like four times and counting today.

Thought this was fine, but didn't leave too much of an impression

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

the vocals on this are pretty rough, I'm struggling with it honestly. Chicago is a great track though

Very few bands give me youthful nostalgia like these guys and I think it’s the guitar tone that does it more than anything. It’s like they figured out how to put ‘aimless night driving with the windows down listening to loud music’ on wax…

Probably their weakest, but still really like it and happy we got one more from them

Reading the second page of this thread and can’t believe people don’t like D&T! The chorus is actually one of my favorites on the album (at least the medicine man part). It’s rare that my opinions on a band’s music seems to differ so much from everyone else’s, particularly on this site. Feels odd, haha.

Yeah not sure what the problem with D&T is. It’s a little cheesy, but definitely one of my favorites here.

  19. I totally understand why people don’t like D&T, it’s cheesy as hell and his vocals are super pitchy and strained in the chorus. But that doesn’t stop me from liking it a lot haha

Album is great, it’s giving me life right now. Half the songs on here could be my favorite honestly, prob Positively 34th St though. This band always just puts me in a good mood. I guess it’s bittersweet they’re done but man I hope we see these songs live some day.

Idk why but the drummers singing voice reminds me of late Nic Newsham aka The Money Pit.

The Boys Are Leaving Town: The Final Days Of Japandroids

Reading this (a phenomenal piece of writing) just makes me appreciate this record all the more. It’s a rocket ship. Literally every factor in the music industry (time, budget, creativity, shows, sobriety, locations!) is trying to keep it earthbound and it still takes off for the stratosphere.
