Smile 2 is a good time. Think I like it a bit more than the first but like that one it feels like it goes on for a little too long imo. They definitely doubled up on the jump scares. Some are great and kept me on edge for a minute or two. Smile 3 is gonna be bat shit after the way that ended

Yeah, it felt pretty relentless. Like way darker than the first, to the point where I was thought they were being almost needlessly cruel with the main character. But that’s the smile disease for ya!

I checked out the first episodes for Teacup and Hysteria!

Teacup was interesting, feels like it's gonna be a slow burn. I'd like to see where it goes but I'm not in a rush to continue with it. Hysteria! is pretty fun so far. Bruce Campbell has a role in it but only has one scene in the first episode. Usually find satanic panic stuff to be a good time lol. Hoping to squeeze in the rest of the season over the next few days.

I still need to start From season 3 too

Watched Dracula's Daughter for my pre-Hays Code Horror with queer themes.

Very cool. Love a 70 minute movie. Reading up on it afterward and it's very interesting they actually used the lesbian themes for promotion with taglines like "Save the women of London from Dracula's Daughter!"

  20. Perhaps my favorite Universal Classic Monster film? It's up there. Also my pick for that category.

Also watched Salem's Lot last night and I dug it.

Obviously way compressed and truncated compared to the book and the miniseries, but if you think about in a vacuum, it's a fun little vampire flick with some pretty cool atmosphere and visuals. I really liked the look of the backlit scene in the woods.

If you like the vibe, look, and feel of Scary Stories, I recommend it.

Mary Harron's movie is damn near perfect. Remaking it is a wild choice (even if it's with Luca).

  24. Yeah, American Psycho holds up shockingly well. I like Luca, but this feels unnecessary. Interesting in seeing if it differs from the original film as much as his Suspiria remake did.
