Her stuff is literally some of the most unique shit I’ve ever heard. Nothing quite like it.

  4. Y'all ever check out her weather-channel-jazz-inspired project Nonlocal Forecast? It also rules:

I unfortunately haven’t been able to get into any of her other projects besides Fire-Toolz. It’s just too weird for me haha. Will check this one out though.

This Fire-Toolz album is the best one yet I think. Total batshit greatness.

80’s highly-conceptual acid-folk album from multi-instrumentalist Bobby Frank Brown who played every instrument (over 50!) including many invented homemade ones, and rocks an incredible, bluesy six-octave vocal range. Opened for Fleetwood Mac, and beloved by members of The Beach Boys. Highly recommend this one to fans of Animal Collective, (late era) Modest Mouse, unclassifiable psychedelic shit.

Anyone ever hear of these guys/this album? Really fantastic stuff. Late 70’s English post-punk mixed with funk, free jazz, dub, and acid rock.

I don't know where to post this Crippling Alcoholism released at the end of February. Band's description on Spotify is "David Bowie in hell". Fan of goth/noise, don't miss this.

also posted this in the shoegaze/dreampop thread. considering also dropping it in the ambient thread as well lol

Beautiful contemplative psych-folk reissue from Japanese guitar legend Naoki Zushi, who played in several bands since the 70's, ranging in genres from progressive rock, noise rock, psych-pop, to more meditative / ambient stuff. This one in particular has touches of all those sounds in one package.

this album by mope grooves is something i feel like a lot of ppl here would fuck with.

its sort of a singer-songwriter base but coated with weird electronic bleeps and autotuned vocals the lead stevie passed away something like a year ago but this is her final work, its a whole world unto itself a strange testament to DIY music and culture coalescing with liberatory movement

  16. Saw Dawn Richard and Spencer Zahn last night and Joseph Shabason opened. His most recent album is a rescore of the classic Toy Machine skate video Welcome To Hell and it rules in both concept and execution:

EDIT: here is the video with the rescore
